Poor optimization and major imbalance between a good chunk of the cast. It's pretty much a remixed Overwatch and comes with many of the same problems.

I've been supporting this for a couple years and now that the demo has been rebranded and I can leave a review, I'd like to say that this game is something special. There is a lot of passion on display here and for what was once called a "demo," there's quite a bit of content.

Gameplay-wise I would describe it a mix of Spyro and Devil May Cry. The combat rewards the time you put into learning it, as you discover new combos and new ways to use the abilities you unlock as you play through the level. There's challenges and collectables all over the place, along with a wealth of npcs to talk to and lore to uncover (every character is fully voiced, btw). The visuals and music are beautiful. In total, there's a good ~10 hours of content in the main level, plus a couple more spent with the content found in the training room.

This game isn't without its faults, however. Watching my friends play made me realize its not uncommon to get lost. There's also a LOT of npcs of dialogue. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it's well-written and there's quite a few references thrown in there, but I noticed those who aren't super into lore and worldbuilding tend to start skipping dialogue as fast as possible after a certain point. Also, performance-wise, the game is very CPU-heavy.

There aren't a lot of games with a dragon as the main character out there, so Glyde the Dragon fills a niche that is sorely lacking. The Prologue shows a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where that leads. So please give the game a shot and if you like what you see, support the developer.

They fumbled astronomically hard and it still doesn't show signs of getting better anytime soon.

This game is simultaneously one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and a massive disappointment. It's hard to describe and is simply something you must experience for yourself.

I feel like the wirebugs make this game a little easy compared to past MH titles, considering most of the monsters can't do anything about you wirefalling away and chugging a potion. But on the other hand, it is very fun to fly up to a Rathalos and slap him like the ♥♥♥♥♥ he is.

Stopped playing for a few months and decided to come back for old times' sake. Unfortunately, awful matchmaking is still making the game nearly unplayable.

My love for Monster Hunter outweighs my hatred of turn-based combat. Except in this instance, the combat is actually fun and engaging, despite being turn-based.

Its sad to see many people review bombing Iceborne because of a single monster they added. The majority of the roster can already be easily beaten by the average player, so I think its fair for Alatreon to be incredibly difficult (especially considering the lore surrounding it, but I digress). I can agree that dps checks are annoying and lame, but there is much more to the monster that makes it difficult. I think all you need to beat Alatreon is preparation and practice. Most people will not beat Alatreon first try, but you just need to keep throwing yourself at it so you can learn and understand its moveset and mechanics. If you learn the monster, you get hit less and spend less time healing. If you spend less time healing, you spend more time dealing damage. If you spend more time doing damage, the more likely you are to pass the dps check. The key to victory is to just never give up. Asking for tips or looking them up online helps too. Leaving a negative review because you can't beat something won't help at all.
