Having not played the first game:

This game is quite good!
Story is engaging.
Atmosphere is effective.
Many creative ideas are in this game, not watered down in the way that AAA games would feel the need to.
For example, in order to fast travel AT ALL, you need to find an NPC "Guide", and you need to pay them a not so small amount of money to take you where you want to go. This feature, and many others, serve to keep the game more immersive and difficult than other games, but not frustrating. However...

I hear that because of actual war, this game is and may remain somewhat unfinished.
Sniper rifles were clearly intended to be used at VERY long distances. They give you awesome vantage points over most of the important missions and difficult encounters. They implemented bullet drop and rpg elements specifically for these rifles. BUT CURRENTLY, enemies despawn when you get 50 or so away, rendering all snipers somewhat useless.
This enemy-spawn-distance also seems to be ruining a major feature that was in the first game, which made NPCs travel and interact in far more realistic ways. As of right now, enemy gangs will just kinda spawn right over the hill, or outside when you enter a building, or sometimes right behind you while you're in your inventory.

I hope they fix the spawn-distance, because otherwise, the game is fantastic!

Truly an amazing game. A level of detail that rivals that of Red Dead 2.

Only thing I don't find fun about this game is the running from objective to objective.
In the first game they let you call down mechs and a couple other vehicles too if I remember.
In this game, it seems like I can see every unlock that will be available, and it doesn't seem to include vehicles besides the jetpack.
I may be misunderstanding the interface, or they may add vehicles later.

Otherwise very fun!

Is a good game!
I returned it because I was expecting difficulty and depth like Papers Please, but this game isn't trying to do that.
It's a relaxing creative game and it does that very well!

This game is so incredible it actually makes me lose hope to see people giving it bad reviews day 1 for movement speed...
In a world where companies keep pumping out the same game year after year, where battlefield no longer bothers with destruction mechanics, this game comes in with a brand new concept, and more destruction mechanics than I've ever seen in an online game. It's fresh, it's polished, it's strategic, it's beautiful.

This is how game companies should be! AND YOU GUYS ARE PUNISHING THEM FOR IT! Absolutely depressing.

The best game in the franchise in my opinion.
Playing through it again to see how it compares to Starfield, and even the vanilla game without mods is so much more enjoyable to me.

Obsidian makes good games. Bethesda, not so much anymore.

Lifeless, boring, poorly optimized.
Doesn't feel like anything I do matters. Feels like 90% of the game is set dressing. I go into a city and there's 100 NPCs doing nothing. You walk past so much useless aesthetics to get to the seemingly 4 people per planet that actually have dialogue. And the dialogue is just not interesting. I cannot help but skip through most of the dialogue, despite never having skipped through ANY dialogue in the Fallout or Elder Scrolls games.

Not what I was expecting or hoping for but it is fun to play, and that's what really matters right?

I loved BC2, BF3, and BF4, and would have loved this game to play and feel like those games. I really didn't enjoy BF5 or BF1 because of how they played. This game goes in a new direction again, and I think it's good and respectable and I enjoy playing this one.

Other companies are producing the same game, over and over in newer and newer engines and I hate that. DICE is trying different things and I prefer it.

Excellent concept.
Already super polished in early access.
No trouble finding games quickly in Eastern US.
