The gameplay is okay. The main issue is lack of content and battlepass. While I do find it fun and it seems like a great game to play with a group of friends, I can't recommend it due to its shortcomings.

This game is garbage and won't even run. So I bought this game ages ago and finally got around to playing it. It says the pak file is corrupt the moment I start playing singleplayer. I've already tried verifying file integrity and it still does it and no mods are installed. This game is a piece of garbage. Don't buy it.

Pumpkin Jack is an excellent game with pretty fun gameplay and nice visuals but I felt it was too short.

Gameplay
The gameplay revolves hack and slash combat. While not as fast paced as some other games in the Character Action genre, it has its moments and can be quite fun and is pretty easy to understand as there aren't a large amount of moves to remember like some other games in the genre. This makes it easier to access and master than games in the genre like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. You have a basic combo, a jump attack, and a move you can execute in the middle of a combo after doing dodge. The gameplay also delves into minigames of sorts like riding a minecart or using Jack's head to do a puzzle. The main issue I have is that the combat isn't utilized as heavily as it could be. There are plenty of fights but the mobs never get very large. At the same time the mobs don't need to be because when different enemies team up, it can result in some interesting combos between them. One of the big flaws I found with combat is Jack can have his health drained in seconds if the player isn't dodging enough and even then it sometimes doesn't matter.

Story
The story doesn't take itself too seriously, but it doesn't need to because obviously the creator Nicholas didn't want it to be the primary focus. The game seems self aware as well and has a good sense of humor. From Vegan witches, to fighting a certain fat man in red, the story has a ton of surprises in store for you to say the least all the while you will be getting some chuckles.

Music and Sound
The sound effects are generally very good and the music sounds pretty good. There seems to be a heavy emphasis on royalty free music as well. So you will hear some classical tracks thrown in.

Visuals
The game is very beautiful. If you turn on HDR the lighting is very colorful and vibrant....maybe too vibrant in some cases as in certain boss fights it can make arena hazards harder to see. This is mainly because of the bloom. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the bloom which means you may need to turn off HDR for these boss fights.

How would I improve the game?
Give some post game content and replay value. Something like the Devil May Cry series' bloody palace mode would really help add some needed replay value to the game. I really enjoyed the game but was sad when it was over.

Early Access Review
I came in expecting a fun game where I could play by myself without having to worry about the stupidity I've heard so much about multiplayer servers. Come to find out you can't make a private server because the developers never fixed the damn game. when you start a private server, you get a black screen with ambience that lasts forever. WASTE OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MONEY.

Resident Evil Village takes what RE7 did and pushes it to the next level. While there is still an emphasis on horror the game is a lot more action oriented than its predecessor was. Don't let that turn you off though. The game's atmosphere and even some of its mechanics actually feel a bit like RE4. Like RE4, you are in a remore European village with all manner of creatures about. Unlike the previous game, enemies have a chance of dropping items ranging from extra herbs to even treasure, which is another similarity it has to RE4.

The gameplay is solid and plays much like RE7 with its first person perspective. The combat feels much faster and more refined now however. You can still block attacks as always, but now a perfect parry will allow you to perform a counter to push the enemy away. Gunplay is pretty much unchanged. You still solve puzzles and progress through the story as well. One of the cases where more of the same is welcome depending upon who you are.

Considering RE's history of being campy, the story here is probably one of the better out of all the games. Close to the end of the game your emotions may get a little intense due to the outcome of the story. I won't spoil it, but let's just say it will leave you surprised.

While I do recommend this game, I would urge you to wait to buy. The game has some performance bugs that Capcom needs to address. At the time of writing, the game will experience a nasty performance drop after only a handful of hours of play. This happens even on good PC's. There are fixes for this (well they're more like band-aids as they don't actually address the primary issue) but for the most part you may need to just reboot the game as this seems to solve the issue. If you don't mind having to restart the game every couple of hours, then I highly recommend it!

Great Monster RPG. My previous review was done out of anger. If you love taming and raising monster I can't recommend this game enough!

If you're hoping for all the tracks from the game you're gonna be disappointed. As with a lot of Soundtracks, the composers only put a handful of tracks onto this OST. Of course to be fair the OST is over an hour long already. But Many of the tracks I happened to enjoy aren't on here. So I'm gonna have to give it a negative review for that reason.

These first few paragraphs detail some of the struggles you will face and how to deal with some of them so in a way this is a guide AND a review in one.

This game definitely isn't for the faint of heart or the average casual gamer. If you're either steer clear. This is kinda like the dark souls of survival games. Its brutal and doesn't hold back. You will receive very little help. Keep the game on full HUD and tutorials on. it doesn't really matter because you're gonna have to learn some mechanics by yourself still. The tutorials will give you the basic knowledge you need but it still doesn't guarantee your survival.

One of the biggest threats you'll face is predators. The Saber-toothed cat enemy in particular is quite common and deadly. In addition to that there are also snakes, crocodiles, wild boars, and even giant eagles if you climb too high in the trees.

As far as combat goes you have the choice to dodge attacks and get away to climb trees. if you have a stick or sharpened stick you can perform a counter attack and stab the attacker with it dealing damage and causing them to flee. Some predators can also be intimidated. The chance of intimidation is based upon your groups current number, the enemy's size, and what neural perks you've invested in. Large groups can intimidate larger animals.

Predators aren't the only danger though. Your apes can die from injuries sustained from falling or getting into scrapes with predators. You can also suffer from poisoning by eating certain foods. And if you haven't evolved ominivorism yet you might as well forget about eating meat, poultry (bird eggs), or mushrooms.

Making babies is essential. The more babies you have the more you can secure neuronal development is passed on to the next generation. Babies also help the adults grow faster so taking them on expeditions with you is recommended.

occasionally you'll find a lone Homonid in your travels. you can either scare them out of your territory or invite them in with open arms. To invite them in though you need to meet their needs. Their needs can range from injury, hunger, to berry poisoning. Its your job to determine what's wrong with them. Thankfully the body language makes it easier to identify their problem. After you give them the item they need they will join up with your tribe.

As for controls, yeah Controller works better but you can use a keyboard and mouse if you must. As some people have stated in other reviews, button prompts are context sensitive and they tried mapping too many actions to one button. A game like this would be better suited to running a keyboard and mouse really but this game was also made for console players as well.

The soundtrack is your typical Jungle styled music. you know jungle drums, pan flutes, tribal chants, etc Its not bad but its not exactly anything special either. If you like it its on sale on steam as well if you enjoy it enough *wink* *wink*

Finally, in conclusion this is going to be a game that some will love for its difficulty and no holding back against the player while others will hate for the same reasons. It's a rough game but its just that kind of game. Either way don't expect it to be a walk in the park. Hopefully this review/guide was helpful to some players. If not then I apologize.

Early Access Review
This game is oddly named but don't let that fool you. This game has so many features for an early access title and it allows you to mess around with vehicle physics on a level most other games could only dream of. Best of all it's not bogged down by races so you can just mess around in a sandbox fashion driving around maps or even destroying your car! The game also has some scenarios and campaigns for you to try. There's also a track builder and you can even do some races or time trials if you wish. This game is well worth it if you can afford it.

I wasn't expecting much when I decided to buy and play this game. In fact, I wasn't sure if I would like it. Lo and behold though, I did. There's not really much to the gameplay. You just make choices and except the consequences of your actions if you screw up.

The story is quite good and you will definitely start feeling for Eryk and his family as you progress through the game. There are some funny moments, and then there are heart wrenching moments that will really get to you. Be it making you angry, disgusted, or heart broken. Regardless of what it is, you will definitely feel some intense emotion while playing this game if you really get into it.

In addition there are alternate paths in the story to take depending upon your choices. These paths will determine the fate of others and change the overall ending.

The soundtrack fits the game pretty well and I even decided to buy it. I was a little disappointed the theme from the trailer on steam wasn't on the soundtrack though, as that's one of the reasons I bought the game: the trailer's presentation and music.

But yes, if you get the chance to play this game. You won't regret it.... unless of course you hate reading anyway.
