Kalynee was born on Spring 2 of the in-game year of 20 in the town of Trescopeck. She was the second child of Helden and Trisbe. As a villager in a town with only 50 people, she would live a difficult, but fulfilling life filled with work, struggle, and love. Unfortunately for her, her mayor decided to do something called “achievement hunting.” Her town would be one with nature, with no crop fields, orchards, or pastures, completely reliant on the wilds for food. Although her wooden house was next to the storage barn, woodcutter, and blacksmith, her parents had to venture out into the woods to reach their workplace to put food on the table.

As a child, Kalynee spent her time playing in the local cemetery as there was no other place for a child to loiter around. Her house, with only a dirt floor, did not have indoor lighting. She managed to create games and toys from the various natural resources she had on hand. For the children of Trescopeck, the cemetery was the place to play with each other and avoid the harsh realities their parents faced on a daily basis. Her grandparents grumbled about something called school, but her mayor decided to pursue something called “the achievement called Uneducated.” All she knew was her family and neighbors worked hard and one day she would do the same.

After turning 12, Kalynee became a laborer and was immediately put to work as a gatherer. She spent years gathering random wild onions and mushrooms so her family could survive the winter. Although she and her fellow young gatherers could not read and write, after one of them accidentally ate a poisonous mushroom and joined the cemetery, they learned quickly how to identify edible plants and mushrooms. Years went by and the town grew despite the constant depletion of stone and iron. She married a young man named Nolander, only a year older than her. They quickly had three children before Kalynee turned 20. Life was simple, and they were both happy. Then a smallpox outbreak occurred. Many villagers died including both of Kalynee’s parents. The mayor was frantic and instructed 10 villagers to build the hospital that was put on hold for the last 5 years. Due to the lack of stone, the hospital would not finish until the outbreak died down. Kalynee would have been devastated by her loss, but her parents had spots in the graveyard and she was satisfied.

As a young adult, Kalynee was commanded by her mayor to switch professions and become a trader for the newly built Trading port. Her job mainly consisted of wheeling an endless supply of firewood to the port and resources out of the port to the market. As she watched a merchant dock at the port, he immediately left as the mayor was upset it was the food trader instead of the resource trader. The town was always hurting for stone despite the active stone quarry. She would have been upset due to her brother getting crushed by a stone while working at the stone quarry, but her brother had a spot in the graveyard and she was satisfied.
Years went by, and Kalynee was growing tired of watching merchants dock in the port and immediately leave because they were not the resource merchant. Although she pleaded in her heart to switch professions and join her husband as a hunter, the mayor remained focused on expanding the town’s population, not improving their happiness. As she watched the livestock merchant pass by with valuable cattle and chickens, she received the news that her daughter died during childbirth, but her daughter had a spot in the graveyard and she was satisfied. As her daughter filled the last spot in the graveyard, Kalynee’s neighbor became depressed as her husband, crushed by a stone in the stone quarry, did not have a spot in the graveyard.

As Kalynee reached her twilight years, she looked back on her life. Her husband died peacefully of old age, uneducated like her. She watched her children have children and her grandchildren have grandchildren. Eventually, she left her position as trader and became a simple laborer once again, helping random villagers with their daily activities. She would sometimes remember her time as a trader and miss seeing the merchants’ disappointment as they were dismissed without a single word. As she turned 81, she felt tired and went into her stone house, empty except for her, to rest on her bed. The mayor was frustrated as her house could easily accommodate five villagers but was forced to accommodate only her. Kalynee closed her eyes and started to rest. SUDDENLY, she felt a surge of energy as her mayor commanded her to become a builder. The mayor wanted to also complete “Firefighter” and queued fifteen wells. Kalynee sprang into action, grabbing large, heavy stones and carrying them to the build site. She worked harder than her young coworker, who lacked a proper tool. The large uneducated population rapidly broke tools, resulting in a mass tool shortage. Kalynee pounded on the unfinished well, determined to fulfill her mayor’s commands. When the well was at 99% completion, she felt it was time. She left her post and returned to her house to lay in her bed. At age 81,

Kalynee the Builder has died of old age.
Clarabel has replaced Kalynee as a Builder.
