I got RTW as my first game ever on my mums ♥♥♥♥ PC (disk) and i have over 2000 hours on it across multiple systems the remaster is everything i could have hoped for. It fixed all the issues i had with the game Eg- campaign AI (now can cross water) the battles and path-finding seem to be a lot smoother. I would say the games a bit easier than it was but i was especially impressed that the roman AI was actually being beaten by other factions ( i was playing Carthage ) which means the auto resolve has been fixed- but i wouldn't recommend using auto resolve yourself and you should fight every battle manually because the auto resolve was taking units at random across my whole army and because the game doesn't have auto replenish like shogun, rome2, and warhammer i was having trouble replenishing specialsed units that i didnt have the barracks for so you should fight the battles manually so you can pick which units you can replenish at the near by settlement. But i should have expected that they wouldn't change this feature but i think that because of the modding scene and the customizability of the original to the remaster in the settings it means that you shouldn't be disappointed with the remaster because you can create your ideal verison of the game regardless of what changes are in it. And unlike before it seems that CA actually want to cooparate with us throughout the games development-even in turns of assesablity for modders so if you dont like it now wait for mods to come out as it went form 5-55 mods in 2 days as well as the abbilty to stack mods unlike the original so the preferences for the game are endless. tbf im so happy that they didn't deface my childhood and actually created a perfect remaster to the game.
