Pros:

Combat: the greatest draw for me. A creative system where using Active Skills prompts a randomized roll of three equipped Support Skills for you to choose one that turn and enhance the attack, or give some buff to you or debuff to the enemy. Most Active Skills require a QTE to be effective. When being attacked, there's an assortment of minigames to complete to either evade or defend using shield charges. I recommend watching the trailer or some gameplay footage to really grasp how the combat works.
Visuals and sounds: this game is quite pleasant to look at, from the character portraits to the pixel art of characters and environments. The soundtrack rocks, very in-tune with the mood of story moments and world regions.
Build customization: the pool of available Support Skills to roll in combat is yours to customize. You can equip all available ones, or just the minimum required, to maximize the chances of the ones you've equipped showing up in the randomized roll. Prioritizing which Active and Support skills you level up first will also influence your capabilities and strategies.

Cons:

Writing: my only problem is that everyone is too friendly all the time, it lessens conflicts and makes twists and resolutions predictable. It feels like a story for kids, everyone gets along with each other, no matter what, and any conflicts of interest are resolved immediately with characters trusting each other. By the third act, I was tired of knowing all conversations would end in vows of trust and friendship.
Flaws: this is the first commercial release by a small indie team, so there are some flaws here or there. Skills aren't balanced enough to remain relevant as new ones are unlocked. Explanations on skill interactions are sometimes unclear, and that extends to UI elements for the QTEs and passive effects they activate. You can't run from battles or even access any options during them, so giving up in a battle requires closing the game from the outside.
