A couple years back I thought the pre-purchase BS had gotten out of hand. I am finding that the Early Access craze is taking that and squaring it. Why are people so eager to pay full price for games that are not only unfinished and in some cases unplayable, but may also not actually be finished for many years to come and might even get abandoned by the developers to become vaporware?

P.T. Barnum once said that there is a sucker born every minute. I can only surmise that with the world's population at an all-time high, they are being born these days at a much higher rate.

"Any reviewer who has played less than 10+ hours of [a] game, you should be very suspect of their game review."

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If a game isn't fun, there's no way in hell I'm going to waste ten hours on it. That doesn't disqualify me from writing a review explaining why I felt like the game isn't fun. Deal with it.

Perhaps it isn't hugs that gamers need these days. Maybe what they really need is for judgmental ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to stop talking at them like some screwed up fortune cookie from hell and just answer their damned question already.

When a game stops being fun, I stop playing. So if I've formed and shared an opinion on a game with less than 3 hours played, well... that just means the game sucked so hard that it doesn't deserve any more of my time.

To those finding themselves offended by this: grow the hell up.

What in the bleeding hell is up with all the pre-purchase BS I see going on lately? I seriously wonder why software developers expect me (the consumer) to pay for a product that either doesn't even exist at all yet or else doesn't exist in a publishable format.

I can understand the logic -- within limitations -- for an established franchise or a company with a proven track record, but it looks to me like there are way too many development projects that are being sold before there's anything of substance to actually sell.

In most cases, my money is going to stay firmly in my pocket until the software has been released long enough for the bugs to be patched out of it. Caveat emptor, I guess.
