@ScreenDoor there is no way the file is a .url you have to be in the wrong location. Program Files folder, then Steam folder, then Steam Apps, then Common, then open the Knights of the Old Republic folder. Scroll down to a file called swkotor2, there should be 2 of them. 1 is an application the runs the game the other is a .cfg file, a configuration setting file. Open it with notepad or something similar then do as directed in my post

WOO! never mind got it working I just had to run it in compatability mode for the windows xp service pack 3
