Feels a bit... off... compared to the first game. Particularly the cut-scenes are a massive stylistic fumble. I sorely miss the crt filters that Blasphemous 1 had. In my opinion the soundtrack, while still amazing, is lesser than the first game.

Outside of boss fights, there was no real challenge. Enemy variety was pretty weak, a lot of carryovers from the first game. Can't say i'm looking forward to replaying this game without a substantial content expansion.

Overall, better than Blasphemous 1 was on release, but lesser than Blasphemous 1 as you can play it now, with all of its updates.

edit* upon listening to the soundtrack independently, there are definitely some highlights that rival the original games score. However, I still feel that the game fails to deliver the soundtrack in a satisfying way. Many boss fights have slow atmospheric themes while areas that you blow through have fast and exciting tracks that you don't really get to even hear all of. I would have preferred the opposite approach.

every turn based strategy games nowadays is "_____ mixed with XCOM." Just play XCOM.
