Backed this a couple years back bc the demo was fun and it’s turned into one of my favorite games this year. They could’ve made a funny comic game with references and jokes and it would’ve passed but the care put into the combat and setting and everything is really well done. There’s an interesting level of tension with the measure bar system when switching between party members waiting for your turn in order to optimize their speed, mana regen, and defense while trying to hinder enemies bars as much as possible.

This has been a really good year for games and Deathbulge Battle of The Bands should not be looked over for the indie department. Congrats Dan and everyone on the Deathbulge team, this rocks my socks off

FIGHT KNIGHT feels like one of those games that are only 20 minutes long and exist only as a proof of concept except it keeps going and is surprisingly fleshed out. Its a dungeon crawler where the combat turns into punch out with dodging and parrying mechanics. The art is really cool, the story is surprisingly well done, the atmosphere of the areas are executed really well, and all of the characters are good.

The only complaint I would have is the double edged sword of the sprites. Attacks are well telegraphed for illustrated sprites, stretching and squashing and changing color to indicate an attack, but this can sometimes get overwhelming in later levels where attacks are precise. Not so much of a problem when you've already gotten used to it, but I can see it confusing some.

FIGHT KNIGHT needs more recognition for how cool it is. It reminded me how cool video games are.

Some of the most fun I've had in a while. I have friends who don't like FPS games and friends who love FPS games that love DRG equally. It really has something for everyone's niche.
