Skald combines modern lessons with a classic retro style that doesn't come across as settling for something lesser. Every visual comes across as something that the games I grew up on wanted to do, but couldn't due to limitations, and there is a wonderful balance of complexity and simplicity. My only critique would be that difficulty falls off after the initial area in my short experience so far, so if you want to have something a bit harder and thoughtful place it on hard (and don't be afraid to do so after the beginning area which is already hard on normal). Overall, great game that I can't wait to sink even more time into, and hope this Dev makes even more games like this one! We need more of this!

Drova has innovated on the typical action RPG by mixing the depth of typical CRPGs with engaging combat that doesn’t boil down to clicking and pressing some buttons and watch as numbers ticking down. I was hesitant, as someone use to complex turn based combat, but Drova engaged me in such a way that I never felt it was the game’s fault I died. The world is filled with wonders to explore off every path, and even failing is made fun by encounters you’d otherwise never see. Ultimately this is a gem for any RPG player, with an amazing story and mechanics. I can’t wait to play more and get deeper into its amazingly crafted world!

So, as someone who has been looking a semi-fantasy based RPG with survival/base building, and this scratches that itch in various ways, albeit some more than others. When it comes to the sruvival base building, while they're bare bones, between the tavern DLC and camp mechanics and cooking, you end up having a nice side mechanic to the main game that is enjoyable and engaging. The fantasy elements are also interesting, but don't expect to go around blasting spells, more like fight some ghosts and creepy creatures. Ending on the turn based combat, there are a lot of elements, and the combat affects not just whether your characters survive and you get payed, but also affect the relationships of your characters.

This is legit like, 50 games, and they're great, and get to experience a game company's journey! There is bound to be a couple you love, which for 25$ USD is more than worth it

Very fun game, it's if City Skylines had the supply line mechanics of Factorio with a unique aesthetic that most city builders don't touch. The different blocks and mechanics also make for a unique and addicting experience
