Good game if u can run it. Funny considering it barely looks better than worlds but nvidia has to inflate their stocks somehow ig

everything else is genuinely great, just up to you and your system if you can stand the packaging of the product

F*ck the people that are giving this negative reviews because "it's not like the first one". The most entitled complaint you could give this game imo.

Yes its not "like the first one". it is the logical continuation of the first one.
I dont think either this game nor the prequel are perfect, but i appreciate the thing the devs are going for and i think in a lot of ways they succeed. What is that thing? Telling a story about humanity's survival in the face of a catastrophy.

The first game was about barely holding on, every life mattered and the small scale really helped you feel personally responsible for everybody in your town. this results in are more raw emotional reation to the game, which is a big part why people like it i believe. But a thing i disliked about it is that it seemed superficial in a way, yes bad things happen and you do terrible things in order to survive, but thats the thing. The situation demands it because it is truely dire and the thematic point doesnt go much further than "terrible things are terrible even when justified by circumstances".

The second game is different. You still have to survive but due to the larger scale every life matters less. More people die yet at the same time your survive is less of a concern and you also worry less about every person.

Frostpunk 2 is about how people stop being individuals and become statistics. Did you really care about the people in frostpunk 1 because you are a "kind" leader or was it just that you were closer to them? Did you start treating them like tools just because therer are more of them? How cruel is that? In FP2 you treat people like what they always were, a means to an end.

This combines extremely well with the second theme, the theme of never ending conflict and violence. The biggest problems you face in FP2 is not the cold, but dealing with different factions. This is such a fascinating theme that puts FP1 in such great perspective that i feel bad for everybody who cant appreciate it.

My wish is that the 3rd Game involves smth like small nations competing for resources in the frozen wastes, the cold would still be a big deal, but a managable problem that leads to conflict over Oil and more. I want it to include some sort of War mechanic, building machines of war and weapons just to kill other survivors like you. Maybe even include crazy stuff like using to cold to your advantage, like wating for a whiteout to hit an enemy city so their resources are drained before your attack.

To me this series is clearly leading up to the idea of "the real catastrophy is humanity, not the cold"

Rogue Trader is just straight up a great RPG, it's not a "masterpiece" it definitively has some flaws, but its good parts outweigh the bad by a lot and anybody looking for a cRPG set in the world of 40k that respects their time and intelligence will get what they are looking for.

If more companies made games like owlcat does the industry would be noticeable better for it

The fact that this is the first game I played that lets you double feed a bolt action rifle is crazy, like not even tarkov lets you do that

A piece of psychological warfare designed by Ludeon Studios in collaboration with the Chinese Communist Party with the goal of systematically wasting the time of easily entertained westerners. This in combination with pandemic induced quarantine still makes me wonder where 3 years of my life went.

Kenshi really is about its world to me. The gameplay, while addicting, in the end really is just a vehicle and a reason for you to be forced out into the world that truly feels alien in a way that almost feels like exploring in morrowind. It naturally makes you ask questions how the world ended up in this way and makes you think about what the point of it all is (in a good way).

It's a lonely experience in the end, because while the sands have seen millennia of history they tell no tales and any interpretation that you come up with will in the end reflect your own view of the world. Playing this by yourself late at night with nothing else going on can be quite depressing depending on your state of mind and at the same time you might feel hopeful seeing people struggle on in a seemingly hopeless world.
