As satisfying and engaging as this game can be sometimes, there are equally moments of dissatisfaction where you are left to hung out dry after knowing you have failed, regardless of the effort you may or may not have put in. Disco Elysium doesn't paint this failure as good, but instead encourages the player to move onward. Whether an answer to something hasn't even registered in your catalogue of possibilities, or whether it is staring you right in the eye, you won't know until you've exhausted all those possible answers. Your intuition and physical prowess can only get you so far. And so? You keep moving. Whether you have any idea what you're doing or not, the ability to confront your mistakes is so much more powerful than slapping a smile on your face and acting as if everything is alright. We mourn, and we hope that regardless of rationality everything will turn out the right way in the end, even if it's something of a miracle. The world may often never give us those impossible miracles we deep down want to happen, but it does provide us with the unexpected ones we need that provide us with the hope to continue.

This game was wonderfully unique, with a handful of characters I'll never forget. Some left me crying, some left me crying laughing, but none of it felt jaded. Could not recommend this game more, although you probably don't need me to tell you that you should play this.
