Outer Wilds feels like a lost branch of the video game ancestral tree, where set in stone player facing objectives do not exist and the game teaches the player JUST enough about the world to make you want to discover everything else for yourself. You explore the solar system at your own pace, with realistic Newtonian physics to play around with as you explore the various planets and other objects. The music and overall tone of the game perfectly capture the excitement of discovery, the danger of the unknown, and the comfort of a warm campfire. I'm being intentionally vague on any specifics because I believe this is a game best played blind, but if you love a good cozy gaming session with an amazing singleplayer story this is one you should pick up.
