A nice game. Intended for this to be a zen-like game but man does this make me get frantic.
Optimisation is key and my god does this make me think about it!
Zen? Yea.... right!
I normally play this while "doing something else" i.e. pretending to others that I am.

My review for this game is essentially the same as that for Arkham City.
The campaign is good, though I agree with the general consensus that there is too much of a focus on the batmobile sections. Yes it added something different to the series but it had such a major part that it lost some of what made the series so good.
I think as well the map was too big for the game. Too much driving around, not enough time being batman.
The challenges add a new breath of life after game completion but the bane of an achievement hunter's existance. Some of them take some serious button mashing but require more time than I have to spend.

If you get the DLC the episodes are fun but far too short.
I only recommend getting this on sale and the DLC does make a difference in my opinion though if you're only interested in the campaign and story then get it on sale sans DLC.

I feel like I need to split this up into two parts.

First the main game:
There is a reasonable amount of story here, I thought that it did finish in quite a short amount of time but the added extra side-quests type things managed to help bulk it out a bit. There are additions with the DLC for Harley's Revenge which is also quite short and playable in a sitting.
Is it a lot? Not as much as I thought - If the game is on sale, the campaign alone is worth the price tag. You get multiple characters, decent amount of Batman-ery.
What did bulk it out is my sense of completionism. Dear ******* lord. The Riddler can go to hell!

The Challenges:
The Collectibles, OK not too bad. They are do-able and can be found without the help of guides through being able to populate the map. What killed it is the Riddler Challenges in the extras, dear god. Some of those can go into a fiery pit of despair! If you hate yourself you'll try to 100% them with all the characters, it's driving me insane!
The fact that this game has a 100% stat on the menu is killing me! HELP! PLEASE!

TL;DR: Good Campaign - worth it, Insane Challenges 100% not worth it!

To quote my wife: "This game is inane" - She is totally right.
This game has a really weak plot. At first I enjoyed it but the dialogue, the characters and everything started to grate on me. I reckon that if you wanted the one playthrough just to see the story you might like it, but for the completionist this game is a total slog.
The only thing that stopped me from stopping playing the game was the fact that I wanted to complete the achievements which essentially means 100% the game - maybe I contributed to my own hatred but that definitely means that the game has fault.
All I can say is i will never be replaying this. Ever.

Edit: So I've been playing this again and whilst I haven't had any game crashes in the extra 17 hours that I've played since I've first reviewed it, the game still has its fair share of glitches. Achievements are glitched. The brightness slider just flat out doesn't work and that means that occasionally the game is just so dark that you cant see anything.
Its still a great game and if you can find fixes to the brightness it is playable, but you shouldnt have to go searching for a solution to make the game playable.

I want to preface this review by saying that I love this game. Seriously this is in my top games of all time, but this edition falls flat for one reason and one reason only. It crashes frequently on PC.
You can go for a while and think that all is well but hope the game will randomly hang them crash forcing you to do a hard reset of the PC. The gameplay when it does work, fantastic, the plot legendary, I just can not recommend this build with the it has.

So I played through this game in the space of a day and that got me all the achievements and all of the endings/CGS etc.
That was taking things too quickly.

This was a good game, some of the writing I felt was a bit sketchy every now and then but the general overall narrative was good. The art in the backgrounds is nice.
The biggest drawback for me was the "playable" character who just didn't cut it for me at all. Every single other character was far more interesting than the one I was playing.

I turned off the background music because I wanted to listen to my own music, didn't impact on it for me at all.

Recommended if it is going cheap!

What can be said about this game that hasn't been said?
It's a mastercraft of storytelling, unlike anything that has been made in recent years.
For me the only thing that I've played that even comes close is The Witcher 2.

A re-skinning of the Xbox classic which has taken a brilliant game and made it look tragic.
Its still the same game, with I think a few added extras but the total immersion break for me is the fact that the character skins just look AWFUL!

I would not recommend this. Get Fable: The Lost Chapters instead.

This is the game that I spent fustrating hour after hour playing as a child.
This is the game that got me firmly into puzzles, games, figuring things out and being glued to a computer for hours and hours.
I beat it. Almost 15 years later.

Worth it just to experience and see what games have evolved from since 1991

This game is fantastic.

The graphics are fantastic. The quality of textures, shadows and everything else adds to what I would say is one of the best atmospheres I have experienced in a recent game. Even better it runs at 60fps in game.
HOWEVER it does not run at 60fps during cutscenes. The transition between the 2 are sometimes jarring but it isnt long before the immersion of the game is brought back and you are running for your virtual life again.

Also this game is not easy. It has a whack-ton of replayability in the form of collectibles, challenges, and achievements (if you're into that kind of thing).

The soundtrack (important for any game) is quality. Very reminicient of the first Alien film which this takes a lot of influence from, it combines with the superb writing, setting and everything else to make one of the best games I had played in years!
