I have too many words for this game, but I think the one word that encompasses this entire experience would be "enriching." There is a wealth of every element here from the puzzle design and mechanics to the character writing, story telling and world building; the visuals and art direction to the hidden content that is easily missable. Puzzle after puzzle, quandary after quandary you're compelled by the mystery right in front of you to struggle for the truth hidden in all problems, both physical and metaphysical. The Talos Principle 2 has left me thoroughly sated in a way that no other puzzle game, even the original, has been able to. I only wish there were an ingame level editor.

I think the biggest thing that holds this game back is not simply the repetition of it, but rather how easily predictable the gameplay loop is, especially in combat segments. For instance, if encounters with predators could have been something other than quicktime events, they would not only make combat scenarios more variable, but also potentially add a different level of danger in approaching each predator. However, for myself personally, I think this game makes up for its flaws in terms of mechanical depth, its execution on those ideas, its understanding of the natural world and its history, and its general atmospheric touches (various biomes accompanied by a great ambient soundtrack). Also, if you come into this game wanting a monkey simulator, you get exactly that, so that's a win for me.

A full original soundtrack, new assets, new weapons, voice acting, bonus content, characters, some amazing tie-ins, throwbacks, and environmental storytelling. If there's any fanmade experience that has claimed the title of being the quintessential successor to Opposing Force (and just a fantastic Half-Life experience on its own), it's gotta be Entropy Zero. This mod is bigger and better than the original, and it shows through every surprise thrown at you. This is how you do a sequel, it was worth the wait!

There isn't a single game I've played that actively compelled me to 100 percent it like Hades has. Going even further, I wanted to beat every possible difficulty level this game could throw at me, and to unlock every possible item which could be purchased. It's one thing to design a game where the difficulty feels fair, and another thing entirely to include innumerable levels of charm on top of everything else done as effectively as it is in Hades.

This game will always be the best in the series for me, and a huge improvement from Abe's Oddysee in terms of control, fairness, quality-of-life features, and a sense of expansiveness that opens up the scale of the compelling Oddworld universe even further than it had been before Exoddus.
