  The game does an excellent job capturing the classic Alien feel. Playing in VR really amplifies the sense of immersion and tension.

  My playthrough took around 11 hours on normal difficulty (with a few restarts due to bugs). This felt like a solid campaign length for a VR title.
  
  
• Interesting, Easy-to-Learn Map
  The level design is strong and intuitive. I rarely had to consult the map—great for VR immersion.

  I genuinely felt absorbed in the game world, which is exactly what a VR title should strive to achieve.

• Clunky Arm Mechanics
  Arm movements in VR are wonky, making it feel unnatural to hold or aim weapons. The forced "weight" on your arms breaks immersion.
  
  
• Unresponsive Head-Mounted Light
  The flashlight doesn't always track your head movements accurately, which can be jarring.
  
  
• Repetitive Enemy Encounters
  Aliens attack in the same patterns every time. They always require the same number of shots, making combat too predictable.

  Aside from a few jump scares, the Aliens don’t feel genuinely frightening. More unpredictability and tension could help.
  
  
• Monotonous Mini-Puzzles
  The electrical box puzzles get old fast. There’s little variety, so you’re just repeating the same tasks over and over.
  
  
• Tedious Welding Mechanics
  Sealing doors, drawers, and boxes becomes a chore once the novelty wears off.
  
  
• Unsympathetic Main Character
  The protagonist doesn’t have the cool factor of Ripley or her daughter, or form any other movies, and it's hard to feel any attachment, to relate to her. A more compelling lead—perhaps a Colonial Marine—would make the experience far more engaging.

  I’d still give the game a 7/10. It’s worth trying if you’re a fan of both VR experiences and the Alien franchise, especially for the immersive atmosphere. Nevertheless, I’m hoping for part 2 to address these issues—particularly the predictable combat, repetitive puzzles, and unrelatable protagonist—and to deliver a deeper, more dynamic Alien VR adventure.   Considering that many YouTuber reviews feel biased and some Steam reviews seem overly negative, here are my honest first impressions:

  Menus & Accessibility
  Menus and accessibility are good. The menu variety and accessibility options feel well-designed.
  
  
  Atmosphere
  Alien Vibes? Check. The atmosphere delivers a true Alien feeling, with great sound design and a fitting, snowy environment.
  
  
  Graphics
  Not exactly state-of-the-art, likely due to Quest standalone and PSVR2 support. Pushing everything to Epic introduces ghosting and framerate drops, especially with heavy oversampling (500% in my case).
  Set it and forget it? Not here.
  You’ll need to tweak both in-game settings and SteamVR oversampling to find your sweet spot. For reference, I’m using a 4090.
  
  
  Gunplay
  Disappointing. The pulse rifle sounds great but often feels unreliable. When aliens appear, you essentially spray and pray, hoping you have enough ammo and health. Little tactical variety so far. The first alien spawns right in front of you, and later aliens spawn when using key cards not tied to your biometrics.
  
  
  Reloading
  Cumbersome. Reloading mid-fight is tricky for both the pulse gun and revolver. Personally, I’m not a fan of manual reloading in VR.
  
  
  Puzzles
  Electrical puzzles are okay, but they get repetitive rather quickly.
  
  
  Datapad Usage
  Constantly using your datapad to read emails becomes tedious over time.
  
  
  Weapon Handling
  Sometimes you drop your weapon when releasing the grab button on the Index controller.
