I really do love and appreciate this game however playing always becomes beyond frustrating.

In order for me to change my review to positive a few things desperately need addressing and fixing.

- A real map and real map markers. The arrow is unique and helpful but most of the time it doesn't point to anything, resulting in most of my time being searching up how to do something or how to get somewhere. When there's barely any information on the wiki and the only visual information you get is from a youtube video made five years ago, its kind of bloody frustrating. You also get no information in the quests to ascertain whether you can actually do it or not. One quest told me to get a drop item from a dungeon they didn't tell me how to get to from a boss they didn't tell me needed max level, multiple people and a potential exploit to complete. Talk about smashing your head into a brick wall.

- Spawns and droprates. I've done the Halloween even three years in a row and still haven't completed all the quests. I didn't even bother last year because the thought of doing the same boss for hours every day until the event inevitably gets abandoned and therefore uncompleteable again waiting until another year comes just didn't appeal to me. There was also this quest that needed a drop from a rare spawn in one of the areas. I waited at least 4 hours, and nothing spawned.

When your game is THIS dead/dying. These frustrations pile up and make this game even worse for on-boarding new players. It's a shame because this game is hilarious at times and I absolutely love the concert event.

You can really tell people care about this game. I care too. I would just rather play something that doesn't make me want to commit seppuku every time if fails to tell me something or doesn't allow me to access what I need within a reasonable time frame.

I have probably been waiting for an official PC version my entire life.

I hope they take this chance to allow Project Diva (and Miku) to reach new heights with continual updates, DLC and the like. If they release more content via outfit or DLC packs you know it'd be bought immediately. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it.

And if they can't be bothered, at least we have the modding community.

Waited for two hours just loading. It kept "not responding" legit every 5 seconds. It's a miracle I got to the character creator, didn't manage to load in though.

It's partly my 3 year old computer but also partly bad optimisation. I managed to load in when I was picked to try out the beta. It was laggy and the textures spazzed about but at least it worked and maybe only crashed once or twice within about 15/20 hours of play?

Oh well, thanks for ruining my day. Was so excited to try out this free weekend.

Very cute. Very fun. Good prime benefits.
You don't feel bad if you're bad at the game.

EDIT: 13/7/2022
Now has predatory microtransactions, tonnes of bots due to F2P and forces you to have EpicGames.
Lowkey want my money back.

Also had to edit this stupid review 3 whole stupid times because steam sucks. Thanks.

After an hour of tedium doing the tutorial lands, lagging all the way, I finally get to the main land and find out you can't pick up more than one quest at a time.
The quest I picked up, didn't even tell me what to do. "Go speak to my soldier at this place." Yeah... you know I don't know where that is right? I just got here. The minimap didn't tell me. The map didn't tell me. What am I supposed to do about that? The world you gave me isn't riveting or interesting enough for me to want to bother exploring.

Early Access Review
Edit 15/08/2021

The game has changed a lot, some for the better and unfortunately most for the worst.

First of all, they changed buying items to buying recipes for items that you can build yourself. I like this change but by doing this, they also made resource production next to nothing. WHICH IS BAD. This has made the game an incredible grind and so incredibly boring. There is not enough exploration for the amount you have to wait on resource production. I have literally hit a dead end in the game. I've cleaned everything and done everything I could possibly do, WAY before getting enough resources to progress.

Now all I have to do is wait.. and wait... and wait.. so I'm not going to do that and instead i'm just going to wait in real life for the next update!

I love it so far. It's like My Time at Portia mixed with Slime Rancher.

A LOT of things need to be worked on, too much for a written review. I would say the main stuff right now would be implementing a jump feature, polishing the SUCC, and implementing crafting. I propose something like The Forest where you put the blueprint down and smack stuff into it all satisfying like. Buying items should be more resource intensive but easier, and crafting should be less resource intensive. Giving motivation to build your own stuff in the early game. Building things should also look different than bought things. Built things being more rough and bought things should be more polished.

I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ excited for how its going to turn out!

It's a really cute little game but the tutorial frustrated me to no end because it doesn't actually teach you how to rotate objects.

It also apparently isn't able to save unless it is installed on the main drive. I'm not going to clear space on my tiny drive just for this game when I have a massive drive just waiting to be filled.

If these two things are fixed I will change my review to positive.

100% One of the best games of the year.

Though some of the humour has gotten stale over the years, some of the lines do continue to crack me up!

I absolutely love this game and I am sooo excited for HuniePop 2.
I NEED MORE SEXY ANIME WAIFU COLLECTION~
