There are a lot of indie farming sim games, which this sort of is. You could compare it to Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, but it really deserves to be looked at in it's own right.

You start as a colonist, on a new planet with almost nobody and very few structures, and as you work as a farmer, contribue to the community, and build new areas new colonists will arrive. It really gives you a feel like you're just one of many colonists who all have a job, even if yours it a bit more labor-intensive.
With that comes the characters, who are all well made and interesting, I found myself playing multiple times to see different people's romances because I was generally interested in them, and I liked how I could control who my character is in relation to them, I could tell them things about myself, or I could keep them secret, I can have any attitudes towards them, the colony, my job as a farmer, and can even be vegetarian or not drink alcohol.
It's a very refreshing change from the usual soulless void protagonist with only agree or disagree dialogue options.

The gameplay is fun and satisfying, it's a loop I'm sure we're all familiar with; gather items, sell them or use them to create more tools and equipment to make your items better and automate processes. The sound effects are really well done and even thgough it's quite simplistic I found myself enjoying it even on multiple playthroughs and progressing the late game.

Really my only problem with the game is that there's not enough of it, I want to see the colony progress further, have more interactions and options to build relationships with the characters, which I think really shows how good the game is, that I can complete it 100% and still want more.

If you like farming games, and want some awesome characters in a cool setting that's new and refreshing, you really have to pick it up.
