This game is my favorite PC game. Don't get me wrong, I love all Stalker games, even Clear Sky. Shadow of Chernobyl is just my absolute favorite. The atmosphere of this game is oppressive, dark, gloomy and completely makes the game. Yes it's buggy. Yes it's janky. if you can't handle those things then you shouldn't play these games. I've never experienced a game like SoC. It's an amazing combination of fps, open world and survival. I don't mean build crap type of survival. I mean things like ... this gun has lost durability I better pick up one of this dead enemy... You can't repair weapons or armor. You are forced to procure items on site. The story seems simple but it actually isn't. There are a lot of moving parts. Then there is the ZONE. It feels like it operates without you. It doesn't need you. It's a world unto itself. Issues sometimes resolve themselves without your input. It's amazing. I could write a 10 pages essay on this game and still have more to say. So I'm going to stop my rambling here and tell you to go play this work of art!
