Counter strike is A refreshing change from games like call of duty where you die in two hits.
Unlike call of duty, counter strike has no overpowered weapons like sniper's rifles that are able to kill players in one hit to the waist.
Playing this game for the first time was a little nerve racking, i thought i would let my team down because i was a noob. But no worry. Other players where happy to help me in my indevers, refraining from calling me homophobic slurs and trying to vote kick me.
a wise man once said "those who don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them". counter strike really hammers this point home, i learned from my mistakes pretty fast knowing that i would need to wait up to five minutes to play again. i spent lots of time spectating watching other players play, learning from them to better myself. thankfully rounds in which you die seconds after spawning are a rartiy.
unfortunately games like call of duty, battlefield and other first person shooters valve gamers despise have set a standard of unrealism that counterstrike has corrected like sub machine guns having an effective range of a few feet, hip fire accuracy being about as pinpoint as a nine year old girl shooting an Uzi and getting shot reducing movement speed to a crawl, if i got shot by some guy while wherein a ballistic vest i think i would walk away slowly instead of running for my life.
