Come to think of it, that's how I treat most of my games: no pain, no gain. Mod it until it breaks, then study the pieces to see what fractured where so I can graft my own stuff into it then patch it up to run again.

Can't tell you how many times I've had to do a clean reinstall of a game

Most of that time is spent tinkering and cobbling together my own mods, while doing live autopsies on the game to see what does what.

I cannot get over the 6,500+ hours on Hearts of Iron IV. You sir deserve a medal for your countless hours on a map painting game.
