This game does a fantastic job of putting the story back in RPGs. The main story line is long, but never feels tedious, there are plenty of side quests to do, and characters feel very authentic and not some list of traits drawn up on a whiteboard and then implemented poorly into a game.

The combat is enjoyable and I actually really like how you can't save whenever you feel like it and that it gives you a sense of danger when you run into some real deep sh*t and it hits you that you haven't saved in a good many game hours.

8.8/10 The only big negative to that being that the world is a wee bit small, but hopefuly that changes with some DLC and such, otherwise 9.5/10

Rome II is a great game. If you're looking to get your first TW game it's definately worth considering. As far as single player goes, it has a very bare bones political system compared to Attila, but many players don't mind. That said, that's one of the only negatives that comes to mind for campaign that's unique to this Total War game. It has a lot of factions with some large variety in them that you just don't find in most other Total War games and can bring you a lot of hours of replayability.

Eventually like all other TW games the single player gets kind of old because once you get a good grasp on the game it's so easy to beat the AI. It's not necessarily CA's fault, it's a dautning task to make an AI challening in a game like this, which goes for every TW game.

The good news is that Rome II is in my opinion, the best TW game around for multiplayer. Despite there being two newer titles there are still quite a few people playing Rome II ever day of all skill levels. It simply is the best MP experience for several reasons: It has some nice diversity in the factions available, and what may appear to newcomers to be similar factions coming from the same ethnic peoples, you'll soon learn that there's actually some moderate to large differnces in them. Yet there's a fairly good balance at play in the game between a large portion of the factions and the differences only become very obvious when you play against someone who is very near your skill level.

Atilla is a better single player experience imo because of the challenges and horde system along with a very flushed out political system, but nothing beats Rome II for mulitpayer. Total War Warhammer is very anti-strategic and while it can be fun to do for a while it quickly becomes stale with tons of cheese builds and unit effects making you questions why you're bothering playing it as a strategy game.

This is honestly one of the greatest games you'll ever play if you're even remotely interested in this genre. In some ways it feels like there's so many thignsg to do, in otherways like there isn't very many at all, yet you simply cannot tire of doing nearly repetiious things throughotu your game.

For single player, you start out with with the only thign that resembles a quest in the game and are able to start amassing a small group of peasants to help you create a warband. From there you can do anything you want, be a villian and assit bandits, hunt down bandits, pledge yourself as a vassal to a king etc. The game is very sandbox as far as goals are concerned and there isn't really any quests, so you make the game what you wish.

I'd highly recommend the Floris Mod for the game.

Mutliplayer consists of various things from team or FFA deathmatches or two sides rotating turns of siege and defend a castle and other various game modes. MP is not the point of the game whatsoever, however it is very fun to get a couple buddies and play it.

This is honestly one of the best games I've played overal and easily the best ARPG. It's obvious to see how the developers are in this to make a great game they're proud to put their name on, and they rightfully have a lot of loyal fans who have been with them since the Alpha or some point in the Beta. I started playing in late Alpha, and the game was rather good even in that early state and they only continue to vastly improve it. It's really great to see developers not try to get away with the minimum amount to make X sales but pay great attention to detail and continue to go above and beyond of what would be an 'acceptable release'. I can't wait until this game is finished, if you enjoy ARPGs at all this is a MUST buy.

You pick a class at level 1, and once you reach level 10 you have the option to pick a second class, although you can do it at any level after 10 as well if you're not sure what to pick. This allows you to have some really great hybrid builds with huge replayability potential. There are currently 5 classes, so the combinations you can make are quite large, and they plan to add at least 1 more class in every expansion.

Grim Dawn has a great mix of C'thonian elements, undead and other demensional demonic enemies. The environment is beautifully crafted and the plot/quests are well thought out, the additional info diaries you can find are fun to collect and read, although not a nonsense mundane task like some games make finding such things to be.

Grim Dawn has a good difficulty level and can further be increased by choosing a Veteran mode, and later when the game is released more difficulties will be released.

10/10

Edit: Been playing this game off and on for a long while now, and it's still great although for those of you coming from PoE or the Diablo series, this is more or less a single player game. There's multiplayer support, but good luck easily finding people to barter or trade with. Still, it's a fantastic game and the developers have done a great job in innovating for the genre. How? Well, in most other ARPG's you primarily get the best loot by either: Farming bosses, or farming special 'elite' mobs randomly generated, or perhaps static. Well in Grim Dawn doing those methods can give you very good loot, but another option, albiet better, is to do skeleton-key dungeon runs. You make the skeleton keys with materials you get from farming areas (on the way to bosses or otherwise) and then craft a key for a 1-shot attempt at a dungeon with mulitple layers that is more difficult compared to other places in the world. Once you're in there, if you die you cannot get back in without re-seeding the game and requring another skeleton key. The dual class system is fun and the I'm eagerly awaiting the new expansion in early 2019.
