Easily one of my favorite games.

Enjoyable combat with a decent progression and quest system. The art style is wonderful, and the music is fantastic. The community is extremely helpful, and if you happen to be a new player you can always find a veteran or fellow recruit to help you out. Enemy designs are interesting, and the the dungeons always feel fresh. Guilds are a great way to meet other active players, and I would highly suggest joining one if you are a new player. The game is plenty solo-player friendly too though, it just requires a bit more effort. End game is fun, and shadow lair dungeons do provide some nice difficulty.

I gave this game a positive review because I've been playing it for years and still continue to enjoy it. I started before I even got steam, so I have atleast 8 years of experience with Spiral Knights. Unfortunately, Spiral knights suffers from the typical old MMO problems. The devs do their best to keep the game servers running by pumping out lootboxes, but don't release any impactful updates anymore. Its unfortunate but not uncommon at all among old MMOs.
