HoM&M is good in my opinion, but it's kind of an old franchise - many of its better ideas are common practice these days, especially most of the tactical components. If you enjoyed the manual battles in Endless Legend, you'd probably enjoy the tactical combat in HoMM, which I'd argue is generally much deeper and easier to grasp. I've only played numbers 5 and 3 (generally considered the best two,) and the age certainly shows in the graphics and Quality Of Life issues.
I have two questions for you but I did find your post one Endless funny. First how was the AI in Endless? I ran out of time to test the AI myself. Second was Heroes of Might and Magic good? I never had the time for it but was wondering all the same.
