Take the extreme ownership of your life:
Discipline Equals Freedom -- Jocko Willink

And when nobody wakes you up in the morning, and when nobody waits for you at night, and when you can do whatever you want. What do you call it, freedom or loneliness?

-- Charles Bukowski

I have a vision of total victory and nothing else.
It’s the reason I’ve gotten this far.
Defeat has no place in my mind.

- Danny Rand the Immortal Iron Fist -

Confidence starts as a whisper. But the more time you spend, as the most extreme version of yourself, the louder that whisper gets. You hear it in brief moments - in a sprint, in a hard workout. But eventually, it becomes a new voice inside your head. And one day, that voice becomes you.

-- Zach Pogrob

I know of no better life purpose than to perish, attempting the great and impossible. The fact that something seems impossible should not be a reason to not pursue it. That’s exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk. The only true failure is shrinking away from life’s challenges.

-- Friedrich Nietzsche

Obsession isn't what you want to do. It's what you can't not do.

-- Zach Pogrob (maybe misattributed, still a great quote).

Today, I ripped 16 miles through a downpour in Manhattan. It was chaos in the most beautiful way. On the first half, running down Bowery and 5th Ave, I saw one other human running. One.

It's important to do things that remind you you're not normal. Waking up, and running further than you've ever ran. Reading a book for 24 hours straight. Traveling alone. Saying hi to strangers. Reinventing yourself overnight.

In a world where uniqueness is rarer than effort, your edge needs to be sharpened. Daily. It's the only way out of the bloodbath of average.

-- Zach Pogrob

Don't fight your demons. Your demons are here to teach you lessons. Sit down with your demons and have a drink and a chat and learn their names and talk about the burns on their fingers and scratches on their ankles. Some of them are very nice."

-- Charles Bukowski

That's the thing everyone forgets about dragons. They aren't monsters, or gods. They are just alive -- like us. And if I were chained in a basement for a thousand years, all I'd want -- is to be free.

-- Qwydion, bad-ass Qunari mage, Dragon Age: Absolution

Don't feel sad if someone ignores or rejects you. People usually ignore expensive things they can't afford.

-- your ego

We stopped looking for monsters under our bed when we realized that they were inside us.

-- Charles Darwin

Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.

-- Viktor E. Frankl

Grind and sweat, toil and bleed, face the abyss. It's all part of becoming an overnight success.

-- Naval Ravikant

Fight for what matters to you, no matter what. Because even if you fall short, what better way is there to live?
It's easy to feel hopeful on a beautiful day like today, but there will be dark days ahead of us too, and there'll be days where you feel all alone, and that's when *hope* is needed most.

Keep it alive. No matter how buried it gets, or lost you feel, you must promise me that you will hold on to *hope* and keep it alive. We have to be greater than what we suffer. My wish for you, is to become *hope*. People need that. And even if we fail, what better way is there to live?

-- Gwen Stacy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

My 2022 resolution is to stop wondering if I'm good enough for other people and start wondering if they're good enough for me.

-- Unknown IG Person

There's not always a light at the end of the tunnel but if you stay in darkness long enough, your eyes will begin to adjust.

-- David Goggins

Control can sometimes be an illusion. But sometimes you need illusion to gain control. Fantasy is an easy way to give meaning to the world, to cloak our harsh reality in escapist comfort. After all, isn't that why we surround ourselves with so many screens? So we can avoid seeing? So we can avoid each other. So we can avoid truth.

-- Elliot Alderson, Mr. Robot

In suffering you meet Y O U R S E L F. Don't avoid it.
Learn from it.

-- Tom Bilyeu

I'm responsible for everything in my life. Everything.

-- Tom Bilyeu

'What you run from only stays with you longer. Find what you're afraid of most and go live there'.

-- Chuck Palahniuk

Find some real motherf*ckers. The world is full of rad-ass people. If you think the world is full of fake people, that says more about you than anyone else.

Take the lead. Be rad. Attract the same.

-- Tom Bilyeu

The Universe only gives us what we think we're *worthy* of receiving.

-- Joe Dispenza

The obstacle in the path becomes the path. Never forget, within every obstacle is an opportunity to improve our condition.

-- Old story about The King, discovered by reading Ryan Holiday

When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.

-- Anthony Douglas Williams

Today, I’m not what I think I am. I’m not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am.

-- Charles Cooley

Everything about your life is a choice, everything that you see in your life from your job to your bank account to your spouse to your loneliness to your happiness to all of it. Everything is the result of the choices that you've made. Everything is either a result of what you've choosen to accept or choosen to change so the question that you're going to answer with your life is whether you're somebody who just takes it or whether you're somebody who takes it and does something with it. -- Tom Bilyeu

Even if it's rain - it's your fault
-- Brian Rose, London Real

Your life is 100% exactly a reflection of the choices you made

Everything in life is on you

''Falling is sometimes the best way to reach the highest places.'' -- Melad

You know, strange times we live in. On one hand we have a mediocre game with ridiculously high price-tag, justified by being the first 'quadruple'-A title. On the other hand we have a top quality project like this, made by just a couple of dudes. Project, which is completely, entirely, purposefully - free. Yup, exactly. Full original game is free. No catch, no bulls, no nothing. And let me tell ya - this game is AMAZING. So good, in fact, that if you scroll through Steam reviews (with both ratings of total being Overwhelmingly Positive, ofc), you will see that genuine 'how is this free?' question so many times. I don't know what is the biggest crime here: charging money for garbage, or giving away part of your soul for free.

I mean, this game was made with so much love you can almost smell it, from the very moment you hit the main menu screen. Sheepy: A Short Adventure - tiny gem, filled with soul, to make your heart smile. Maybe to cry a little too.

Before dropping my few cents about the gameplay, let me share why this game is so special to me.

One of the creators of this title is behind a huge YouTube channel - MrSuicideSheep - or Sheepy, how many call him. Independent channel, that promotes various talented electronic (and not so) artists and bands to the hungry audience. To us. I don't remember exactly when I discovered Sheepy, but it feels like it's been forever. As a teenager, endlessly browsing the platform for more tunes (after realizing my love for liquid dnb), I inevitably, fatefully, even - found the sheep with the dark name, that resonated with me more than I'm willing to admit. Being good friends with insomnia by that time, I, just like Rust Cohle from True Detective series, didn't sleep. I just dreamed. During those long nights I was dreaming to music I found through Sheepy's channel. Music that stayed with me for years. Owsey, Koda, Tom Day, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Hammock, ODESZA, Fred V & Grafix. Many more. Music, that kept me going, through my highs and my lows.

Time flew by. Lotta things changed. So did Sheepy. My dude dropped a game. And what A GAME that is.

Sheepy: A Short Adventure is like a younger sibling of Hollow Knight and Ori. You can see the inspiration and references from the very beginnin'. Add Limbo vibes, minus the horror, and you'll have it: a classic platformer, challenging enough to entertain, but not too difficult to lose your mind and quit mid-game. Title ain't lying: the game IS short, as my first run was 2.2 hrs (got stuck for ~40 mins in one place), but the next few sessions were under an hour. Visually it's like a stardust candy: 2D pixel art, so vibrant, so pretty. Charming. Just beautiful to look at. And of course, story, lore, secrets, voice over, and, most importantly - sound. Music, ambient, soundtrack - the atmosphere they all create is of sublime quality.

But, let's drop the fancy words: the game simply feels so complete, so wholesome, so unbelievably good. Very well optimized, with a few patches being already in place, it runs smoothly. I played with Xbox series X controller, that the game struggled to recognize at first, but plugging/unplugging it helped, so honestly? no biggie. There are still some bugs here and there, but I'm sure they will be patched in no time. My personal experience was basically flawless.

For achievements lovers - you will enjoy reading those descriptions. 100% is very doable, but you have to beat the game without dying for that. Tricky but hey, I believe in you. :-)

So, what are you waiting for? Go and play the game. Experience it. Taste it. Feel it. Play it once on your own, blind. Repeat, looking for secrets you missed the first time. Stream it to your friends. Maybe do a speedrun. Or a chill run. Iron Man run?
Just play it.

Oh, and Sheepy - thank you for the wild ride over the years. You turned into a true goat. < 3

Ooh I see, it makes sense now ahah, no worries at all! Thanks for the explaination I admit I was a bit confused at first but just went with the flow, kinda reminds me of when I started Meadow and didn't know how to communicate properly but still had fun anyway :pawscub2:
On my end you were slithering around while locked in the "sleeping" emote (from lynx cub to fuzzy snake because pfff paws are overrated lol). Another session in good company, full of goof but not without some classic chill moments, greatly appreciated as always! :meadowlovebadger:
