Amazing game so far, however, not as good as the original in both story and map design.

I highly recommend that you play the original subnautica before playing this as it has more guidance whereas this one assumes you already know some of it.

lots to do but can get tedious

Absolutly amazing single player game, but after you finish and try to play multiplayer, it is FULL of jerks who cheat in ways that should even be possible. People cheat by basically becoming gods, flying, and blowing you up while you are on the other side of the map. You can report them all you want, but they arn't doing anything about it.

Personally i would have waited for a sale for $5, but this game is very good with good endings. When you play this game, you will either find it relaxing or stressful, i find it relaxing and a good go to if i need to chill.

Like minecraft, but in space. and like 10x more complex.

I was gifted this game by my friend. and it was and still is a waste of money.

I recently tried to play the game again and from the moment i started the game i was annoyed. First, the resolution was wrong, no big deal, i'll fix it when i get into the menu. Nope, you cannot access settings until you get into the game, so the first few minutes of cutsenes are messed up because you can't fix the resolution. Second, the camera keeps resetting while i'm in 3rd person, i try changing to first person which just looks like the camera is a go pro in front of your character. I switch back to 3rd person (which there are no clear instructions on how to do btw) and increase the FoV which kind of mitigates the problem. I follow the tutorial instructions going through repairing my ship until it tells me to pick up the portable refinery. Thats the third problem, when i get out of the ship, there is no portable refinery for me to pick up. I'm not told to craft one or anything it just tells me to pick one up, but it doesn't exist. I can't find a way to craft it and i try restarting the game but it doesn't spawn. This is either a game breaking bug or crap tutorial instructions. I stopped playing after this as i was too annoyed to continue.

After you clear the annoyances i'm sure some people will enjoy this game, however, i find the controls (mouse/keyboard) annoying to use with to many steps just to move one thing to your inventory.
I don't recommend this to anyone unless on sale, they fix these issues, or you think you can get through these annoyances.

Overall, poor UI are my biggest issues, but it all looks pretty.

do not buy or play this game after any updates. The devs are focused only on expansions and have ruined the game because they arn't fixing game breaking bugs. For example, sectors, which are supposed to automatically build things on your planets, are broken. They take the resources you give them and then don't build anything

The game breaking bugs have been fixed. though, there are still some very annoying bugs that you will have to work around in-game. Buy this game but expect periods after updates where it may become unplayable.

just to tell you how bad my computer is...I can play this at my gradma's house, but not on my computer.....500 MB of RAM. *Sigh*

It was a very good game while i played it. Although you need to work at getting in game money almost turned into a grind. please make it easier to get in game money.

I don't think that this game is worth $40 but definitally get it as soon as you see a sale. there are many mods for this game as well. My favorite is Star Trek Armada 3 (total conversion mod). Sins of a Solar Empire is a RTS game with many challenges. The rounds can last for an hour or even an entire week.
