95% of the DLC is just playing the base game over again, slightly sped up by the fact that the planet you're on has every resource. The new content is a chore and (this is just a problem with all of the post 1.0 content in general) the story is dumb and does not gel with the base game.

Astroneer started as the most simplistic and understated game of all time. The entire story and side missions at launch were all told with zero dialogue and no characters. It's an incredibly basic story about learning to survive and conquer an alien world while exploring the unknown. Everything post 1.0 has been needless stories and characters with entire text walls of lore explaining them.

The player has no reason to care about the train conductor, the dumb slugs, Chronos or the hacker character in this new DLC. These new characters and their side missions only hinder your progress towards completing the base game. I don't want my completely dialogue void game to be brought to a screeching halt to tell me about some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who set up train stations on two of the planets that you now need to fix in order to 100% the game.

This is why the wanderer's way is such a perfect update. The wanderer is a mysterious character that is never properly explained who fits in with the game's theme. His side quests can be completed in tandem with the base game and aren't progress inhibiting slogs. And to top it all off you're treated to mysterious appearances of real life space probes like sputnik and the voyager series probes, literal real life representations of humanity exploring its final frontier, you know like the ENTIRE THEME OF THE BASE GAME. He was also, at the time, the only other character you would see, contributing greatly to the game's feeling of loneliness and isolation.

Each new update has completely diluted what the original game was. This DLC is no different. More mindless slop to slug through to get a lousy suit.

P.S. The microtransactions in this game are a joke. All the vanity content in the base game was unlocked by 100% the game. But now you have to pay minimum 15 USD to get a single suit in a game that you already paid for.

This game has amazing artwork and music, all clearly made by people who love and care about the metal slug franchise.

But, its a boring gatcha game. It's too easy and the new enemies don't fit at all. There is zero reason for the gatcha elements as that's where the only difficulty comes from. you either have the power to defeat the next boss or you don't.

In a perfect world all the effort put into this game should've gone into just another metal slug sequel or maybe a remake. Metal slug fans only hope now is metal slug tactics so we'll see how that goes.

Bugged to ♥♥♥♥ on release, and whoever did the animations needs to be fired. Rigging and animating characters in unity is easy as balls and I have no idea how a triple A publisher let this ♥♥♥♥ pass. The animations for the 3 new enemies are absolutely atrocious. New items are nearly worthless or completely broken, there is no in between. New survivors lack polish; seeker looks like a character not from this game and having the boss as a playable character is so obviously a last minute "Oh ♥♥♥♥ we need a third character!" moment.

However, the new enviroments, music, and stages, are great. It's amazing how the only content in this update that is good is the content made by members on the original team, I.E. Chris Christodoulou with the music and the designers of the child enemy. (I'm 100% convinced that the Child enemy was already in development before this dlc because it's animated well and the dlc has only 3 unique enemy designs, all of which are animated poorly and bugged to ♥♥♥♥.)

You should wait till this is on sale or gets patched. somehow they broke tons of visual and audio stuff. It's frustrating. This is a failure on so many levels. There is ZERO excuse for the ♥♥♥♥ animations and zero excuse for the lack of play testing and bug fixes. It's also been multiple days since release and somehow none of the bugs have been fixed.

Terrible story, annoying gameplay loop, persistent and reproducible bugs, game is mid af and not worth the time it takes to get to the ending.

A genuinely great game in the sonic franchise. There is the occasional bug here and there but this is a great sonic game. The open world concept works perfectly and the shorter linear levels are awesome too! They're probably some of the best in any 3d sonic game. There is actual writing and the story is easy to follow but not too simple. The game is super simple but insanely effective. This is a step in the right direction for SEGA, they made a really enjoyable sonic game which is astonishing after several misses like forces and boom. Can't wait for the incoming updates.

Weirdest Qbert sequel I've ever played

Nah but seriously, a great game, Definitely in my top ten games of this year. Its interesting, fun, intuitive, unique and funny. Highly recommend, my only problem with it is that I have too many trebum and don't know what to do with half of them, I wish the cloud feature was available more often, but I can understand why the devs would make you wait for it in each stage. Great game 8.5/10
