Over time I have actually come around to liking this game the more I have progressed. Honestly its not a bad experience when the game starts to open up, however actually getting to that point feels really awful. The progression and making the intro a nearly 4 or 5 hours long tutorial just isn't very good, I had a really negative impression of the looting game play loop early on that seemed to improve as I advanced into later stages and unlocked things like Infinity Siege mode (which really does scratch the itch of what the game is trying to show). The game is getting many updates and fixes early on, many of which solved a bunch of issues. I am slowly considering it to be a more positive experience, than originally wanting to refund it after slogging through 4 hours of content that was honestly a drag (until more features appeared). I am gonna leave this review as positive with the exception that the game is very hard to like upon starting it, but it does get good eventually.

(Old review)
This game unfortunately doesn't really function as advertised, it is supposedly a Hybrid shooter/tower defense kind of deal with a number of systems supporting that. However it seems to be more of a looting game with incredibly poor ai and functionally little of what is advertised in defense department. I mean the title itself is misleading as little actual siege seems to occur. It took me approximately 5 hours to get out of the tutorial section of the game, which has much more of a looting component than it does base building or genuine defense. The concept is great, the idea of fighting off a massive amount of enemies with a custom fortress, switching between combat, building, and commanding units is a fantastic idea that the game fails to really deliver on. I want to like it, however with how its built currently I simply can't.

Well it certainly isn't Vermintide 2, but neither was Vermintide 2 on release now was it? Now before people jump me, I'm not making excuses for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ release, the promises of content we were supposed to get at the start and didn't, the cosmetics shop being ready before most of the game was, and the litany of bugs and issues in running the game itself, however all of these things are issues that sit on a solid foundation of gameplay. Darktides combat is engaging in many forms, taking Vermintide 2's system and adding a heavy mix of ranged combat with suppression mechanics among other things makes for quite an enjoyable experience. Very few of the weapons feel bad to shoot or use in combat, and when they are used it can be rather intuitive to figure out what they are good for within the hands of each class, as all get exclusives as well as some general purpose gear. Some may not like the time-sink that is gear crafting in this game, but I don't particularly mind making an investment for a build with the fairly new crafting mechanics, as well as the class build to accompany it. There's a decent variety of unique blessings that can be applied to weapons making all the types fairly unique, on top of other small modifiers that accompany them, I'm not sure how useful this is the earlier difficulties, but it certainly provides a level of depth when playing on Heresy or, particularly, Damnation.
I should probably mention the AI, the AI is your fairly normal "horde shooter" type deal, with a lot of mindless chaff that will sprint at you and attempt to mob you and wear you down, sprinkled in the mix is also a number of ranged enemies that will kill you rather quickly (Sometimes too quickly), as well as a number of specials that are fun to fight whether they appear normally or in bulk as a modifier. I will note that a couple of the enemies are fairly strategic in their deployment, Bombers will attempt to huck a grenade at you, often times indirectly and then attempt to flee. Snipers on the other hand will attempt to shoot you from a good distance away and reposition if they are being fired upon or you attempt to run up to them. The balance of horde-clearing and dealing with the specials is good fun, and requires a decent amount of communication at higher levels to deal with competently and without loss. I feel it mandatory to also state that sometimes the AI director in this game, much like Vermintide 2, will just up and randomly decide to ♥♥♥♥ you. Sometimes there are complete calms, sometimes there are a trickle of specials spawning to attempt to keep things interesting, and sometimes the game will up and decide to spawn multiple enemies that can restrain you, whilst spawning anything that does fire damage which causes instant health loss (toughness is like a shield, it reduces damage or negates it), as well as a sniper, which also deals massive health damage. Sometimes there is simply nothing you can do about these things, but this is fairly rare in my personal experience.
The last thing which I need to comment on that is likely known about among the bevy of other issues that the game had at launch is the fact that it runs completely like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Whilst I don't have a monster setup, I do run an I9-900k, A 1080TI, and 32gb of ram, so my PC is no slouch, this game simply cannot run past 1920x1080 resolution for me with its best settings. I cannot for the life of me figure out any graphical options that seem to improve this either other than lowering the resolution, and I am not the only one who seems to have this issue, at least with the guys I play with, some of which have superior setups to me. Not only that, but theres been multiple times when updates have straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥ peoples ability to even launch the game with certain graphics cards, or somehow made the game run worse. I have no idea how this even happens, other than the fact that the game is in a somewhat janky and unfinished state on a technical level. This is not really excusable, but I will mention again that Vermintide 2 had very similar issues at launch.

Overall I felt it important to give this an honest, but positive review, as I believe beneath all of the issues it had at launch that this is truly a good game that will really shine, so long as the developers give it updates over time in the same way that Vermintide 2 got them. There's a lot of promises that were made and were not kept, a lot of features not available, and a REAL scum move with the cosmetics shop being up before the game even ran competently (which it now barely manages), but I really do believe with time this game will become something special. Maybe it should have released at a later date, but I have really enjoyed the current content despite certain difficulties and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of these types of games, especially if your a fan of Warhammer 40k.

I cannot continue to play this game until they un-♥♥♥♥ the clearly greedy and malicious economy. I would otherwise recommend it if it weren't for that. (As of a while ago, they did enough for me to change it after massive community backlash)

"Darkwood" is a top-down survival horror where you run around a particularly bad patch of the woods and try not to get mauled to death by the unrelenting horrors that wait for you as you try to escape the woods. Now before I say anything more about the game I have to give credit to this game's sound design, most often in this game it is not what is immediately visible that causes fear but more so what is heard. Unfamiliar footsteps, the door to your hideout being opened, or just anything you generally can't recognise audibly, because more often then not whatever it is doesn't want to make friends. It is utterly terrifying to be boarded up in one of the hideouts at night because of how well the sound goes along with the horror aspect of the game. Sometimes the longest nights are the ones where nothing happens, simply because something COULD happen at any time and letting your guard down won't help your survival odds.

There is quite a bit of mystery and lore to be found during the endearing attempt at survival in these woods, which compliments just how foreign the woods actually feel as a location. Things simply do not work the way they should and the game expects the player to try to learn and adapt to this, all the while dropping hints at what may have occured during when the woods was turned into the horrible thing it now is. This ties things together quite well seeing as while the player is trying to stay alive they are also encouraged to explore the worse-off areas to either find supplies or even to just try to comprehend the woods itself, through the small trinkets they find throughout the woods.

Overall if any games like "Silent Hill" or perhaps the older "Resident Evil" titles have any of your interest I would suggest giving "Darkwood" a go, as its one of the better horror titles that I have personally enjoyed in quite some time.

This game is fantastic to play with a group of friends, especially when knowing that any slip up or trap can send you to a spiraling off-screen death. It gets ridiculously hype when you are down to two people and can barely see the map (due to how sudden death slowly starts diminishing your view area) and neither will quit despite how one clever grappling hook or power up can end the game. It's got a great mix of maps as well as workshop created ones to play when you eventuallly get the swing of all the original ones. However be warned that being hit by 3 grappling hooks simultaneously may induce bitter rage towards all of your friends.

I really do enjoy GTAV ever since I bought back on the 360, the game itself is great fun in a whole lot of ways and when playing I often sort of just found myself in situations where things sort of just happened and now I was fighting someone, in a car chase, or trying to steal a plane to escape the police with my friends. Unfortunately, this game has really taken a dive in terms of how much fun it is due to hackers and all the nothing that is done about them online. Sure it was annoying every so often when someone would find a bug in the game where they could sell their car over and over for bundles of cash but thats forgiveable, on the other hand when you have people on almost EVERY server spawning in objects, killing people with commands, and giving out stupidly large amounts of money (That make everything you have earned legitmately seem like pocket change) it kind of wears you down. I mean what is the point of the game if I have no goals really? Because of the fact that hackers and cheaters are free to run rampant and ruin the games economy I really can't say I find much of a reason to play this game anymore and I wouldn't suggest anyone but this game ONLY because of that.

I literally cannot form words to accurately describe how much I enjoyed this game, I thought to myself "So yeah I guess MGSV is going to be my favorite title this year" a quick awnser to that was nope as soon as I completed this. The game itself was thoroughly enjoyable in both its story, gameplay, and its amusing dialogue. It also has a way of hitting you right in the emotional feels, whether those feelings are good or bad. I don't normally write reviews for games, but I felt this NEEDED to be done. The game is not expensive, really I would suggest you just go ahead and buy it.

Payday 2 is a game where you try to plan for a heist of some fashion and your friends mess the whole plan up, then you are debating what to do with the extra loot bags you have because you are running low on ammo and a very sour looking man in a bomb-suit with a shotgun is deterring you from leaving along with the rest of the DC police department. This game is great fun with some friends due to it being four player co-op, even if you don't have any friends that have this game do not let that deter you because there are alot of people that play it that are usually pretty cool. There is a large amount of customization in the game that allows you to range builds from a combat specialist, to someone more supportive with things such as health kits or faster drill speed, or even a build where you can to the whole thing undetected, not to mention the guns have a pretty wide range of customization themselves. You will laugh as you watch the rent-a-cops run in fear to only be shot in the back, you will cry as your whole team is tazzed simultaneously, and you will rage when one of your team drops a grenade and the alarm sounds when you are halfway through stealth. I would highly reccomend this game not only for the game itself being great but that OVERKILL is very generous and adds a-lot of new content much of which has been free.Overall its a very solid game especially if you have some friends around to complain about the drill being broken.
