What a gem this game is! Pretty much up there with Outer Wilds and What remains of Edith Finch. An instant cult classic.

40 hours in and my last autosave became corrupt. After several attempts at loading from previous autosaves, all my autosaves became corrupt and now I cant load the game from manual saves either.

What a waste of my time.

CS-GO with Iron-sights, very light weapon modding, a variety of gadgets and a light environmental destruction model without the in-game economy.

Sounds great? ...welll, UBISOFT.

More UBISOFT.

There is a good game underneath a large pile of ubisoft.

Not worth 60€
Not worth 40€

Buy it on a sale when it goes below 20€ and for the love of Gabe Newell the creator do not buy the starter edition.

Great game with lots of potential and a so far stable player base. Run by a developer capable of prompltly fixing server related issues pouring patches on a rather regular basis. No pay to win system implemented yet, with no trace of one being made so far.

Open beta non the less.

This should be put into consideration before purchase.
The game has been out for a while now yet it is the worst optimised piece of software I ever played so far. Dark souls 1 without DSfix runs smooth compared to PU BattleGrounds. Waiting for performance fixes and patches is advised.

The leap of faith that is purchasing a open beta is one thing. Running the game for the first time on whatever high or ultra settings the game recomended to you is another. In my case I had to wait through roughly six minutes of 1fps slideshows before alt+F4 did its magic.

30€ for a unfinished product is a gamble. A guarantee of the game entering a closed-beta state doesnt come with the purchase. Although with this title that may be the least worrying issue. This game seems to have a lush future ahead but with performance issues deep as these a price tag of 30€ deserves consideration on the buyers end. (Unless runing a NASA equivalent PC)

Just for reference-
Running a gtx 960 (2gb) with a mild overclock, FX6300 3,5GHz (6 cores) @8GB Ram with 40 stable fps on such demanding titles like Wither 3 or GTA 5 on High settings (60fps with AA off). Yet this game is incapable of running stable 30fps on all graphicall setting turned all the way down and or off including .ini file tweaks for max performance. Take this terribel performance optimisation into account.

PUBG 1.0+ UPDATE:

Game is no longer early-access. Still runs like crap. 55-60fps on very low with the occasional drop to the one digit plane, with semi-frequent stutters and net-code wich I believe uses RNG to determine hit-box locations.

Speaking of RNG, shotguns are a blast in this game. To clarify, if you ever find yourself at an Impasse in PUBG and feel the need to erase yourself from existence, commiting suicide with a shotgun pressed against your skull does not guarantee a one-shot kill, or even a hit...

Yet lots of fun to be had with this particular piece of software, just make sure your PC is high on the high-end spectrum. I recommend this game to anyone who has more money in their PC case than in their wallet.
