Go fast and rain bullets to a banging soundtrack!
5 Classes each with their own different build options, branching paths and multiple hidden areas means that this has a ton of play value. Multiplayer is limited to one other people, but who wouldn't want to die repeatedly with a friend?

Played through all the dungeons before writing this to see if maybe it improved as dungeons progressed

It did not.

Played as a Rogue with friends in a 4 person party. Spent more time accidentally teleporting behind allies who were standing near me than behind enemies with the primary engage tool. The camera controls are horrid at best, and anyone standing behind you WILL block your entire screen. The small zoom in when you move CAN'T be disabled, so thanks for the sleight motion sickness there. Good luck trying to have your skills go off well either as a Rogue. You'll oft get the error message "No Valid Target" as you try to mash to get a skill go off in some vain attempt to be useful. The particle effects flood the screen to the point of blindness. I have an easier time seeing in 4 player Borderlands games where everyone has rocket launchers. I wish I was kidding, I really am.

The layout of 3 of the 4 dungeons are so repetitive that it baffles the mind there isn't a minimap so you don't get lost. Hell, even a minimap that creates itself as you progress would be more helpful than the blind stumbling around. Hope you like the same few rock/stone tile texxtures.

Don't waste your time, your money, your sanity. The only way this game will be worth it is if some serious overhaul is done. I fully understand this game is in Early Access. It is currently not worth it.

If any dev happens to read this, may I suggest making the game Gauntlet/Diablo-like? There is something here, but over the shoulder 3rd person is a nightmare. Optimization is as bad as Kings and Heroes was

All in all a fun, fast paced game! Loved the variety of powers, upgrades, and versatility of build options.

Took about 8 and a half hours to get though a playthough to beat the final boss. Would reccomend for those looking for a fast paced, old school doom like. Just remember to blink once in a while

Playing this game is like Smashing your head into a brick wall over and over again while your cousin's five year old son kicks you in the junk while telling you facts about Pokemon that you knew 20 years ago. You wanna correct the little brat but you know he's just gonna stutter the words "but umm... do you know..." for the next 20 minutes every time you try to tell him you know who Pikachu is.

9.5/10 - Frustrating yet you can't help but love it, even if Braeden won't shut up about Pikachu

This game caused me to rip my hair out, lose my voice, hate my friends, divorce my wife, ritualistically summon a demon to pour molten lead into my ***, commit tax fraud, and jaywalk

10/10 would buy again

I keep coming back and trying it update after update. Optimization is crap, world is practically dead, it somehow keeps getting worse every time I came back to try a dungeon out. 0/5 would not reccomend. Go buy another dungeon crawler

Hammerwatch is a dungeon crawl, Hack and Slash heaven best played with friends. I picked this up on the summer sale and immediately wished I had picked it up sooner.

Pro's
Solid gameplay
Easy to learn, hard to excel
Clear difficulty curve
Really feels rewarding when finding secrets
Great game to play with friends
Character choices all bring something unique to the table

Con's
Gets a little repetitive when you start over again and again
No checkpoint for higher floors to start from
Can get a little bullet hell at times (Just a personal grump as I'm not a personal fan of bullet hells)

Not even worth it. Clunky controls, bad HUD, and makes you play 2 tutorials before you can even pkay co-op with friends, which is really the only reason to play the game.

I'm a fan of old school, dungeon crawling games and the hayday of Naughty Dog Studios (See Jak and Daxter Series, Ratchet and Clank Series, Uncharted Series), so this game is well up my alley.

The Plot:
Without any spoilers, this game's plot is engaging enough to keep someone with ADD coming back to it. The characters are both fun and gritty enough to stick throughout the playthrough. It isnt a particularly long plot, so it could easily be completed in a few sessions of a few hours. If you are a Completionist, there is enough that makes you come back and hunt around to give you another hour or three of gameplay. The puzzles are clever enough that with some time and concentration you can get them

The Enviroment:
Its one of your biggest challenges overall. Very Beautiful, very fun to traverse
