Best tower defense I've played yet! Shares the same genre as They Are Billions, but I enjoyed this one significantly more. The customisability of the castles you build piece by piece provides a significant amount of depth as you fit in the various requirements you need (buff pieces, fallback positions, fail-safe ledges, and so on), and this is especially true once you start optimizing the resource usage and resilience of your buildings. And there's a blueprint function, so you don't have to perfect the same type of structure over and over, though there is no one true blueprint for every wall.

The game also has an enjoyable campaign, quite unlike They Are Billions. :V

It's a great experience, simply put. It's a game that's about the emotion that it inspires, rather than the complexity of its mechanics. I'd suggest you buy it if you're the kind of person that enjoys story based games, and then make sure you play it in one big sitting of 2-3 hours, so that you can enjoy the experience with the partner you find through the whole journey.

Make no mistake, Slipways is a hard game. Understanding the game enough that you can reliably get good scores takes significant amounts of effort, even if you're a veteran at this kind of puzzle game. When you start out it seems absolutely impossible to get anything even close to a good score, and it's even harder in the campaign. But if you're willing to persevere, you'll find that Slipways is a game that can be immensely satisfying when all the pieces fall into place, just like you planned.

It's a nice game, once you learn how to salvage ships efficiently.

A beautiful game, with an incredible soundtrack. It's good, but flawed in the sense that though you get the feeling of an expansive and fascinating world, the actual interactions fall a bit short of how promising the worldbuilding is. Simply put, the story is a bit underdeveloped in places, though I still greatly enjoyed the game.

While I do like the idea of the game, the UI and control scheme are sufficiently atrocious for me to refund the game within the hour. If you buy this game please keep in mind that you might not like these aspects of the game.

Dota is a game that is exceptionally hard to get into but it has a large loyal playerbase for a reason. I would recommend trying it and seeing if you can learn the game, because Dota, for all it's merits, is not everyone's cup of tea.
