This game is still beautiful and fun as I remembered it. You play as a wolf, roaming the land to restore it to its former beauty. As a wolf you can do things like dig, bark, bite and recieve pat albiet only from a few npc. Only dig has gameplay signficance but you can still prompt reaction from people from the other interaction. There a lot to do in this game, sidequest, collectable and even fishing. Your main method of gaining upgrade is aquiring praise, which you get for restoring land, helping people and feeding animals. As you progress through the story you unlock brush technique. There is a lot of interactivity with the enviroment that involve the brush technique thats worth disovering on your own. The brush technique lets you gain access to new area or treasures that were previously unreachable.

Combat is equally prominent in okami as you'll need to slay the demons that are contaminating the land. Combat is standard action hack and slash but what make it special the interaction enemy have with the brush technique. Enemy will have certain weakness/resistance to brush technique for example the red imp instrument can be destroyed with slash brush technique when its been raised to block attack. Combat is not difficult and rather forgiving, at least for me. Those who are struggling could always use consumable which there are plenty and can be bought. The real challenge is to obtain blossom ranking at the end of combat. The game rewards you with more currency for beating enemy quickly and not taking damage. It is very difficult to obtain blossom rank on boss fight assuming you don't plan on save scumming or retrying. Its in your best interest to not die in the game as there is a game performance score at the end of the game which grant rewards. Thankfully time is not part of the game peformance score so you can take your time beating the game.

It runs fine on low specs machine and even on low quality the game is still georgeous. Graphic option are lacking not that you would need a lot, but I would at least like view distance. If you running low spec remember to set your option before you starting the game, you don't want to listen to Issun and Sakuya for an agonising half an hour of unskippable dialogue due to the lag.

As a port, the biggest disappointment is the lack of mouse support for the menu. You have to navigate with keyboard. It would of been nice to have a brush cursor. Otherwise the game runs smoothly and the controls work.

Edit*
I forgot to mention about the beautiful soundtrack. Its consist of traditional japanese instrument, the flute work is amazing. It works really well with the paint brush aesthetic.
