I really want to like this game. It's well made. So far, it's just to hard for me to have much fun with.

06/27/2020 - Still too hard. No point in owning this.

12/15/2020 - Watched hours of tutorial guides. Thought I was doing good. Killed the first mission tutorial guy without losing any men. Got my first task to kill some dudes. On the way to the target location, got jumped by barbarians, then by dire wolves, lost all but 1 guy, even while attempting to flee.

Lots to do, harder than it looks. Fun game, grindy. Story says "to be continued".

Some claim that positive reviews are fake, because dev asked if players would post reviews.
Guess that means all reviews are fake, seriously when's the last time you ever heard someone on the internet say "Like this post, like this video, share, like, subscribe..."

Having lots of fun. I enjoy leveling things. This game has tons of that. There are about 60 heroes to level, spec and gear. There is gear to level, pets to level, teamups (a hero that parties up with you) to level. Harder difficulty settings to run. Dailies, terminals (dungeons), public grind areas with boss events, rep grinds, currency grinds. Way too much loot.

An interesting part of this game is that alting actually does something. There is something called Synergy. This is where stat buffs are unlocked for each hero that is levelled up, 1 for level 30, 1 for level 50. For each hero you play, you can pick 10 other hero's synergies to apply. Say like you are playing Deadpool specced as ranged. Want more ranged damage? Level Ironman to 30. Want more physical crit, level Moonkight. Most games I've played, alting is just something to do for a mix up, here it benefits your main. Each hero that you level also gives you an account wide XP boost.

There are stat boosting points to spec into what's called the Infinity system. Each hero you play, for XP gained, Inifinity is gained. The total points are account based and each hero has full access to all the points. So leveling alts, or grinding a lvl 60 main benefits all other heros by earning these points, which can be put into things like crit chance, hp, defense, etc.

Respeccing infinity, synergy and skill abilities is free! (unlike many of the online games I've played lately where it cost real money, or at the very least in game gold.)

People really love to complain. $4-10 for a costume is not greedy, play Black Desert where they are $30-$40. Don't have money, or a job or then don't buy costumes. They are not needed and offer no stat boosts. They just let you pick a favorite hero look or provide a change. Some costumes even change animations and pet summon appearance.

This company actually gives away too much free stuff. (probably why they needed to port to console.) There are often events with free stuff, sometimes even teamups, free pets. Playing gives lots of in game currency to buy heroes or teamups. Can eventually unlock all of em without paying a cent, but entitled people want it all now and free and not have to play for it or pay for it and then complain that there is nothing left to do.

There is usually an event with every Marvel movie in the theaters with new costumes (people complain about that even.)

Some of the developers, designers and such post on their official forums, and answer what questions they are allowed to answer.

Many PC players complain about the fact that dev resources are currently being utilized for the console releases. No console release = no $ = bye bye server and then the complainers can have no game and at least go away and complain about blizzard or sony or whatever other "evil" company out there they end up plaguing, demanding their way and free stuff. Or claiming they got banned for "no reason" (other than hacking and botting and harrassing other players in chat, but hey, isn't that their right after all?)

I do understand why long time veteran player are upset though. Having levelled 60 heroes, geared em up and then having a game changing update come along. I've quit games myself for that very thing, such as WOW and Ultima Onine. Most of the updates for a while have been new heroes and not new content such as stories or terminals and such. Hopefully that will change once console is stable and more dev resources are freed up. There was a dev team change-up. The new game changes did simplify stat allocation a lot. Not as bad as WOW though. If a player levels all heroes and geared them, there might not be much left to do - there is raiding, but I've heard that it can be difficult to find a raiding guild. When I played at release back in 2013, Doom was end of the story. There are more story chapters now though, so as a returning player - there is stil lots left to do.

I think I need to close the global chat for a while. All the complaining is really getting to me. I'm having fun, I like leveling and buying costumes for heros - but then again, I have a job.

(although people complain that it takes too long to level cause they have a job, while also at the same time complaining there is nothing to do....)

Including Diablo on the steam page may be a bit of a marketing mistake that lead to some negative review backlash. To me, it feels more like an isometric mmo with lots of loot drops instead of being a fast ARPG. I like both isometric mmo and tons of loots. So its cool so far.

I like that there is a character customizer and that gear actually shows up and changes appearance. Attack speed and running speed are attributes that can be leveled, so starting out, it can feel slow. I like that leveling up takes time, instead of being a rush or way too easy as some games can be.

Lots to do so far. Instanced dungeons can be reran for better loot over and over and you can increase the difficulty. I like the graphics, not bad for an isometric game. Instanced housing seems to have lots of ways to customize everything, although I just got a house, that unlocks at lvl 12.

Plenty of different ways to spec a character. Devs respond to forum posts and reviews and have implemented some of the community suggestions, such as increasing the amount of character slots, and selling mounts individually instead of just in loot crate orbs (gamble boxes.) Has lots of mmos standard items, tons of achievments with rewards, titles, fishing, crafting, loot DE for enhancing, a card system where mobs drop cards to collect to unlock set bonuses to stats, etc..

Includes nifty things such as Boob Slider, Butt, hip and thigh customization, exploding mob body parts, some blood and lots of loots.

Lots of crafting, usage based skill progression, claim a plot of land, build everything from the ground up. Has a UO type of feel to it so far, with some fun, humorous additions, such as crafting cigs, joints, overeating till ya have to use the toilet or puke, has a hooker in the inn.

Helpful community that is willing to answer questions. Responsive developers.

One core aspect of this game is your plot of land. You can claim one anywhere on the map and expand its size. There is rent based upon the size of your plot. Fail to pay rent and your claim is in danger. You can plant seeds, harvest crops, build a house, craft forges and other tools, make chicken pens, raise cows. Your claim is a refuge where you cannot be pked. You can surround it with fences to keep other players out of it if you wish.

The crafting system is hardcore. For example, if you want to craft a shield for combat, you must gqther materials to craft a knife, then create an axe, chop down a tree, chop the tree into a log, craft a saw, use the saw to turn the log into boards, use the knife to harvest raw hide, craft a dryer rack to dry the rawhide, craft a tanning tub and tan the hides, then buy or craft nails, then combine them all. That is if you have the required skill level.

There are many different recipes under the categories of Carpentry, Metalworking, Leatherworking, Stoneworking, Mining, Lumberjacking, Pottery, Tailoring, Mechanics, Alchemy, Survival, Farming, Fishing, Herbalism, Cooking and Leadership.

There is so much to already do in this Early Access game, it really is a sandbox. Want to Pk, or get strong and fight the Pks (so far there hasn't been much Pk action - I've yet to be attacked.), want to have a farm, or craft goods for the auction, have a player vendor on your land, you can.

As for the dungeon type of experience, there do not seem to be dungeons out of the box. Instead players with mining can create a mine entrance and explore the underworld where tougher mobs spawn and rarer ores and gems can be harvested. These can go down multiple levels.

There is a lot here for the cheap price. As a sandbox however, you must bring your own fun and define your own experience - which is how I like it.

09/13/2015 - This game has become my go to game for something quick to do, if I just want to play for a few minutes, although - sometimes it sucks me in for a few hours. The game devs are awesome and keep adding small updates that add more fun and more randomness to each replay. There are now zombies, and a masked chainsaw wielding maniac that shows up at parites to cause some interesting chaos!

So glad I bought this.

Had tons of fun on the first play through. Great dark humor, strategy and puzzles. The difficulty seems just right. Some people complain that it's too hard, when losing a level with only 3 targets left - but that's life. Go play pretty ponies if you don't like a challenge. Recommend buying this game. Haven't played one like it as of yet.
