It's a simple one It's not like the game platform is bad, It's more likely that the card game is dead and even more when the banlist is worst than in the actual game. The free to play part is tricky. Gems are hard to get and the best way to get them is by events, but if you are a free to play and you have built a deck then it can be not playable for the event so you have to built a new one. My belief is if you want to play the game you should try ygopro platform (for example Edopro) or duelingbook.
