Excellent game. Underrated.

Recommend treating it as its own thing, almost like the game I hope Star Ware Republic Commando can become.

Story and voice acting is a bit stilted but it feels like people generally wanted to perform. Gameplay is excellent.

I was reading the other reviews, and the thing that hit me was that we were all voyuristic. We all have the common experience of using this game to explore a wickedly vast world, full of danger and excitement. This is probably one of the view games out there on the market that truely feels like nothing else out there in Triple-A, except perhaps the other games in the series.

The most enrapturing thing about this game is the humanity of it. You feel very... mortal in this game. Of course there are bugs, immersion ruining little things that pop up here and there (ARE YOU BLODDY KIDDING ME HE WAS 500 METERS AWAY THROUGH A BUSH BLAKDJSLDUG), but overall, the atmosphere and the characters, and the overall human struggle of just getting a little food to last you the day and the struggle to find shelter to cower in at night is extremely engaging. Power fantasy games are great, don't get me wrong, but this is a game that requires you to play the game in a more human manner, dare i say, actually role-play a survivor.

And that is why I recommend this game. Because it makes you feel like you are alive.
