To start I want to say that this review is based only on my own playing experience of the game with no bias to members of any side of the games community or to the developers. I don't know if the developers are good people or bad people or if other reviewers for that matter are either. I have not taken part in any community discussions and have no interest in doing so. From just reading reviews my own opinion is that their is a great deal of hatred and bias that resulted in negative rants masked as reviews. I do not doubt that the people writing them hate the game but I believe it is not possible for them to be objective because they either hate members of the community who have opposing views or hate the developers for whatever reason. That does not mean that they are completely incapable of finding some legitimate faults in this game but it does mean they may blow them far out of portion to serve their bias. I can think of no game I have ever played that is perfect. This explanation is made in hope that readers will be able to better put in perspective varied reviews of this game.

So if you would like to enjoy this game I would recommend that you avoid like the plague any forums discussing it for the following reasons. First hints just from reviews here suggest they are hostile environments. Secondly because I believe the fun in this game is from discovering the characters and strategies as you play. You could possibly go to some forum and find the perfect strategy now I will note here that I don't know if that strategy exists but have seen it claimed in reviews with less play time then I have.

I can tell you that every Fantasy, Turn-Based, Strategy type game I have played and can think of has eventually turned into a grind and usually after many hours of fun learning the best strategies to use, there are always some strategies that fail and others that work, what point would there be in making new games if every game used the same system.

I can also tell you that after 17 hours I am still leveling heroes and upgrading manor buildings. I am still experimenting with the many character classes and their varied abilities and I am still learning in what priority I should remove the varied negative character traits, sicknesses or stresses with my limited gold. Maybe after another 17 hours I will have all that sorted out maybe at that point it will start to feel like a grind. Things considered I can say I feel I have already gotten my dollar value out of it.

To finalize I would say I do recommend this game and that the best way is to play it like you would a point and click adventure game. Don't read the entire clue book before you play. Play the game and if your stumped get help for the issue that stumps you then close the clue book until you need it again.

The game is short and that was the only downside to it. There is a very intriguing story and atmosphere honestly it felt like playing through the plot of a conspiracy movie thriller, great fun.

A 4x Turn-Based game where you have only one city and your units are survivors with varied skills. Your goal is to survive a hostile monster overrun world. To do that you must gather resources that will allow you to build up your city and craft better gear for your survivors to equip. You will have to balance sending units out on adventuring expeditions to gather resources and experience or leave them at your city to protect it and upgrade it. The number of units available to you is very limited they are your main resource but there is no way to regularly produce them you may build upgrades that will increase the chance of units finding there way to your town and you may acquire them through events but the same events may also kill them off. There seem to be a good number of different events and each of them has different methods of approach or retreat. My party came upon the path of a black cat and chose to follow, it ended with my healer in a witches kettle, We fell into a cave after a cave in and chose to explore rather then try to climb out, down the path we went right at the fork and ran into a dragon, we chose to run for our lives and not attempt to steal from it or attack it.

Combat and other event challenges are done in the form of card duels, the cards represent each of your survivor units and the card abilities vary depending on their gear and stats. A combat event can lead to the death of your unit but there are ways to mitigate that possibility, Challenge events may some times be done instead of combat your characters will be safe from death but will likely receive less reward.

When you start the game you select one of several fallen deity, most of them require some kind of accomplishment to unlock, each can be leveled up and provides different starting bonuses and seemingly have a series of events related specifically to them.

The tutorial is somewhat helpful but also bugged the dialog to instruct me on the next turn button came up after I hit next turn and indicated it was the third dialog in the chain, I hit the go back button on the dialog to review what I had missed and the game had not gone to next turn yet and the game froze there. On my first combat the tutorial dialog came up and indicated it was 1 of 20 I hit the next button and it vanished only to reappear many game hours later after I had already gone through many advanced fights, it let me then go through the no longer needed dialog.

This is a very entertaining game recommended to fans of Fantasy, Strategy, Turn-Based, Party Management, Exploration and Variation.

I have nominated this for best implemented multiple tag game. What I mean by this is they way they have perfectly combined elements of RPG, card game, 4x, rogue like, survival, crafting, choices matter.

Made A Ranger with wolf pet on hard mode, had no trouble untill the bear killed wolf pet on my blink, the clear indication for expierienced CRPG gamers to come back later with more power. Gained a level, ran into an NPC mage in town and took him along dispite the mouth he can barely controll, hired antoher mage at the adventure guild and went back to the bear, he died from arrow's and mage missles before my wolf got to him.

There are strange things going on with memories and souls and madmen none of it is very clear to me except there are monsters and bad men involved and some odd folk are willing to help me kill them for whatever reason's of thier own and thats good enough for me, for now.

So after about twenty hours of game play I ran into a game breaker bug with ranger pet, from what I have read this can happen either to your character or the ranger companion. usualy after a death the pet will disapear and you will become traped in whatever area your in. If this happens aparently there is a curent work around but it only works if you havent saved the game after the bug. The work around is to exit to menu then exit game and try to reload last save. Several of my more recent saves had been corrupted by the bug since i saved before I knew the work around. I decided to just restart since I wanted to tweek a few stats. Anyway its always wise to save frequently on this type of game if you dont want to loose hours of game time, there is only one quick save spot, so you need to open menu and save from there to be safe. My normal practice has been to do a menu save in each new map area.

Aside from that I have had a lot of fun with the game and am just about where I was again before the bug, the replay has gone fast and my team is far more effective seemingly so far. Knowing what is around every corner may be part of the reason for that.

Finaly got around to finishing this game, as A fantasy fan it will join my small classic list, great story and voice acted very well. Better then most of the fantasy books I have read. Takes me back to the golden age of P.C. gaming when adventure games where among the AAA.

This is a platform light adventure game with great title song, story and comedy. The platforming seemed fairly light with a few areas that can be slightly irritating for novice like myself. Without rush it took me 6.7 hour to complete so it is not a long game. The adventure game aspect set's a nice standard for other developers and the platforming aspects fit in very well with it. An overall well done game. 8.0 final score.
