On release the game was pretty rough, nothing like it's previous 2 games but it's not a CA game if it doesn't have a rough start and have a lot of love put into it. There is some content locked if you don't own previous games, but they are working on it to have newer players included for the Immortal Empires experience.

For now if you are looking to buy this game and haven't played or owned the other titles it can be a fun game between the 7 base factions you can get plus the Ogres and Warriors of Chaos, should you purchase those along with 3. It's got some mechanics that can be annoying the first go around, but they aren't too hard to navigate and the multiplayer options are some of the best in the whole series.

If you have one of the lower end computers like I do then you might have a tougher time trying to play the game with others, but the single player campaign can be fun to stream to friends with multiple ways to go about the objectives. Lets not forget about the modding community, as they help make and break this game by allowing you to just play the game like a normal sandbox, make your local Slaanesh factions more pretty, or introduce new community made units into your already broken faction, and so much more!

Is it more fun when you have access to Immortal Empires, Yes 100%, but that shouldn't detract from the love and the effort put into the game by the devs or the rest of the community. It is still worth it to get the game, just as I was sold on Warhammer 2, I am sold on what Warhammer 3 has to offer!

Edit: 8/18/23
The community loves this game but the company has some major issues. We've all seen major improvements to a lot of the features of this game, and it's still fun to play, but there are several things missing from core game play, such as certain lizardmen Units for a certain PAID DLC lord. Some bugs that could go with some fixing. We even got word that garrisons are going to get buffed, I was really exited to see it, but honestly the recent message from one of the higher ups just shows all of us that they don't give a damn about Warhammer.

I wouldn't mind them becoming like paradox but I at least want them to not be jerks about it.
