I probably have over 60 hours on PS4 and this is one of my favorite games of all time. The world design is just so incredible to me--huge monsters roaming vast fields with giant skyscrapers and landmarks in the distance, highways that pass beautifully crafted nature setpieces, and some of the most nostalgic scenery I've ever seen in gaming (Galdin Quay's design looks and feels like a setting from old PS2 games while having a modern level of graphics). The character journeys are gripping and emotional, and the story is kind of laid-back at first but ramps up in intensity towards the second half. I think that's actually perfect for a world like this; you get to live the experience of having a fantasy road trip with your pals and end up stumbling into something far more serious.

On top of all that, you're handed one of my favorite abilities in gaming ever: Noctis' warp. At any point during combat you can quickly relocate or use the momentum of the warp to attack. 4 years later and it's still satisfying to land a massive warp strike causing a break and finish off an enemy with a combo! Combat is highly encouraged too with a ton of unique monster hunts and a strong increase in power as you level up by fighting bigger and bigger threats. The enemy variety is also insane, there must be hundreds of unique creatures/characters all wonderfully animated and fun to face against, some of the best enemies are the huge mecha-inspired machines and the imperial soldiers. All in all, I'd highly recommend this to open world action fans who are interested in laying back between intense fantasy combat and enjoying a beautifully crafted world with a gripping story.

EDIT: Having finally finished the PC version and witnessing the new content I think I can say that this is an even more definitive version of the game than the one I played on PS4. There's new optional content and new cutscenes which help tie things together and yet that magic is still there. The world is relaxing and unique, the sense of progression you get from leveling is really nice, and the fights are still epic. Highly recommend to anyone interested in this game which has become a classic fantasy RPG for me.
