As someone who has played over 1100 of this game I think I can easily recommend this game to game to you for purchase. Its a complex yet simple to learn game with a large amount of campaign variations. Which is what you are stuck with as time and the player base has passed on unfortunately. Just avoid the naval battles as they are terrible and CA has later given up on making naval battles viable and you are in for a great strategy game.
