Very approachable for a group of first-time players. Solid mix of battle-strategy and puzzle-strategy missions, and we're already seeing some alternate replay routes - not even through act 1 and we're looking forward to "when are we going to try this again?"

At several points, the game asks players to name things. I recommend having whoever gets the prompt just naming them secretly for happy surprise value if you have a group that you get along with (and if you don't have a group that you get along with, that's something the game can't help you with and an issue you're gonna have to solve on your own)!

This is the rare instance where I'm already hoping that there's enough support and interest for the studio to bring out new campaigns and new characters; the game is charming and I'm very satisfied with the pretty sizable campaign we've got, but I already want more!

Came for the wacky humor and silly mascots. Expected tongue in cheek silliness and business management sim. Was surprised to find heartfelt character, solid crime-world story, and an honestly emotional tale of intrigue, murder, and self-discovery. And a flying truck that let me shoot my assistant out of a cannon at spirit foxes and haunted paper dolls while running for mayor.

There's a learning curve and it took a few more restarts than I'm used to in similar games, but now that I'm into it, the overall flow of Zero Division is pretty good! Finding out that this is a solo project by a part-time game maker only adds bonus points: the aesthetic is strong, the card synergy is good, I think it's worth the learning curve.

Absolutely lovely to have an L5R video game, and repeat Crab expeditions into the Shadowlands is a really good hook for a persistent-progression run-based game. I've been having a lot of fun with this one over the last few days.

The customizable autobattler squad is really nice; I enjoy being able to tailor my character stats to my preferences over multiple runs (though it's not freely adjustable; stats are chosen from a menu of packages) and the different class options add a good mix of flavors to each playthrough. I do hope a respec option for hero characters is added: I passed a level milestone with my leader before a patch was implemented and missed out on a unique ability, according to patch notes, and the game is long enough that I don't want to start a new save file just to get that. I probably will in the future regardless; it'll be interesting to see how the game plays at lower levels with better knowledge from the start.

The character and monster animations have a lower framerate than background and scenery elements, along with a thick black outline. I don't find it intrusive and actually find it oddly nostalgic and a little charming, but this could be a frustration point for some.

I am fifteen minutes into this game at time of posting. I am stopping here because if I do not pause, it will consume me, and I have friends I promised to spend time with tonight. I expect that I will be consumed at some point in the near future. I welcome my fate.

This is a forgone conclusion: I am a fan of Snake Farm and (very) briefly held a spot on the leaderboard with the hose, and there was no way that FISH FEAR ME wasn't going to grab my attention. And it did. And oh, how it did.

If you liked SNAKE FARM there's a lot to like here already. I can see the innovations in control, weaponry, and fishing minigames, along with the continued hubris of adding a fishing macrogame to your survivors arena. If you didn't like SNAKE FARM, buy FISH FEAR ME so you can dislike it too, or not. The tractor has not followed me here yet; I assume I am safe.

Takes some getting used to, but the animations, kinetics and zones set it apart from a lot of other deck-building battlers. Not as refined as slay the spire, but dripping with aesthetic.
