Hi, cosmic debtors!

First off, I wanted to thank you all for a successful launch! I'm extremely happy that the game has resonated so well with people, and I can't wait to continue working on it with y'all.

PATCH NOTES

Fixed a garbage collection issue that would cause game saving to fail in rare circumstances
Fixed an issue where pressing "Fast Sell" on the first available frame would trap you in slow sell mode

I'll be posting a development roadmap sometime soon detailing my next plans for this game! For now, I'm focusing on squashing as many launch bugs as possible. Thank you to everyone who's been reporting their findings!

Launch day bugfix patch!

Quick one to get us started: gave the game the ability to detect/handle corrupted saves! If the game fails when loading your save for whatever reason, it'll copy your corrupted save file to a backup, create a new save file, and notify you.

I'm excited to announce that FISH FEAR ME is out now, with a 20% launch discount!!!

It's been a long road to release, and I'm very grateful to have walked it with the help of every person who gave feedback on the demo. I'm happy to report that the game has become close to the best version of itself, and I hope each and every one of you enjoys the finished product!!

this game very good. i'm really excited to see how deep the content goes, that's like my biggest rule for a roguelike is how deep does the hole go and this hole seems deep. i will throw myself into this deep hole

This game really REELED me in
The gameplay just HOOKED me
The music has CAUGHT me off guard with how great it is
10/10 will fish again

I've seen pixel graphics before...

But this must've been made in Paint with no effort, right? I mean, I think I could do a better job on some of the illustrations, and I totaly suck! Maybe that's the way you wanted it to look. Then good job :p

let any fish who meets my gaze learn the true meaning of fear for i am the harbinger of death. the bane of creatures subaqueous, my rod is true and unwavering as i cast into the aquatic abyss. a man, scorned by this uncaring earth, finds solace in the sea. my only friend, the worm upon my hook, wriggling, writhing, struggling to surmount the mortal pointlessness that permeates this barren world. i am alone. i am empty. and yet, i fish.

Can't progress past Choose Your Boat screen

Hi, I downloaded the game for the first time and can click Start (New) and select the Nightmare Lake level without any issues. However, on the next Choose Your Boat screen when the Rowboat is selected and I click Start Game the button changes from white to grey and nothing happens. I've tried hitting enter and spacebar, uninstalling and reinstalling, and changing from full screen but no luck, it just continues to sit on the Choose Your Boat screen without progressing. I'm on Windows 11. Any advice?...
