Didn't expect them to make commentary about the lethality of american cops, but I guess even Sheriff Toadster doesn't know what a taser looks like.

This game was on my wishlist since release whilst I was waiting for a good price drop. Now that it's free, some friends and I decided to play it couch co-op, and we genuinely enjoyed it! There are some confusing parts like the upgrades
(Apparently there's a bug where one of the legendary upgrades stay through levels, making us think all upgrades are permanent!)
and the gameplay gets a bit monotonous after a while, but the gameplay is solid and enjoyable for a few hours of co-op play.

Literally does not launch

Too much randomness and not enough player control, making the game really difficult. Due to not having any control the game feels very frustrating when you lose.

I absolutely adore this game. Have you ever quit a story-heavy game half way through - even though you loved the game - because the game was filled with too much non-story related mechanics (like in Mass effect or fallout NV)? Then this game is for you.

This game encompasses everything I love about games like Mass effect, Fallout:NV, Sunless Seas, and other RPGS: It's like they've taken the absolutely satisfying skill- and relationship mechanics from other games, cut out all the 'fluff' (like shooting, driving, etc) and replaced it with a relatively easy, quick-to-understand card game which respects your time.
I will never get why most non-visual novel story games always have mountains of barely-passable, third-rate gameplay to sift through to get to the good part- t's like if Pokemon had hours of mandatory sliding puzzles in between gyms. It's something this game absolutely does _RIGHT_ compared to all other RPGs. The only other game that even remotely comes close is Long Live the Queen- but that game feels like a spreadsheet simulator in comparison.

Definitely would LOVE more stories written in this format. I really hope this game sets a precedent on how to get story games _RIGHT_, and I hope this format gets adopted by the industry.
Devs- Please make more games. And while you're at it, please make more merch!
