Gameplay-wise, Shadow of Mordor is extremely solid. The Nemesis System is revolutionary.

The major problem is that autosaves are bugged beyond repair for me and manual saves don't exist.

Yes, that's right. In some cases, this becomes a AAA game with countless hours of story... that you have to beat in one sitting.

Unfortunately I'd already played for 5 hours before discovering the bug so I can't get my $4 back.

Judging by research and feedback from various forums, this seems to have been a problem from launch that hasn't been patched. Because of that, I can't reccomend the game any longer.

I put over 200 hours into this game. I played through the story thrice. I've messed about with mods for countless hours. GTA itself was a masterpiece of a game, but with mods... GTA itself was just a box. It was just a container for the infinite possibilities of mods. That's what made me pay $60 for a game I already paid $120 for on two console generations once it arrived on PC. Mods were the most important part of the GTA V PC experience.

At least, until Take Two Interactive issued a cease-and-desist order to the team behind OpenIV, the software that permits all substantial modding for GTA IV and V. It's been running for nearly ten years undisturbed... until June 14, 2017, when it had to shut down because Take Two declared modding effectively illegal despite tolerating it (and even celebrating it) for nearly a decade.

Because of that, I can't reccomend GTA V on PC. Don't get it. If you're getting it for a proper game, don't. You can get it on console, but I can't reccomend that because it supports Take Two Interactive. If you're getting it for mods, don't. You'll be disappointed. There is nothing to reccomend about GTA V PC any longer. Unless and until Take Two reverses this decision, this negative review will stick and the rest of the reviews will continue dropping. In honor of the OpenIV devs, "recent" reviews will reach a low of "Overwhelmingly Negative." That'll get some press attention and it will certainly get Take Two's attention.

Okay, let's be honest here. Loads of people are complaining about this game technically. I had no issues with it. As a result of that, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! This is by far my favorite Batman game. It REALLY captures exactly what it is to be both Bruce Wayne and Batman. The storytelling is gripping, the dialogue well written, and the action exceedingly good, expecially for a Telltale game. I just finished the first episode, and tried to pick the most "Batman" options I could, even as Bruce Wayne. Without spoiling anything, I will say that it is the best Batman experience there is and may ever be. I love the Arkham games, but in my opinion, this is even better. There's no way on earth Arkham VR will even slightly measure up to this. If you like Batman and have a decent-to-good PC, PICK THIS UP! I cannot reccomend it enough. My ONE complaint is that there's a spoilery character who's so unlike his comics, Arkhamverse, film, animated, and TV counterparts that it's impossible to tell who it is at first. He's a tall, thieving, conniving man with stubble, a long coat, and a thick London accent. Who is it? If you guessed Rip Hunter, you're wrong. You'll have to play it to find out, and you'll be surprised when you find out.
