RTS and FPS is the way to go. Of all the games I run on Steam I still prefer these styles the most. If youre looking for a good fight on an RTS game then I'm your guy. Ive been playing RTS games since Warcraft: Orcs and Humans was released. Ive played and own all the C&C titles and love them all, even 4 (though it was kinda cruddy).
