A solid Gears game in the X-COM II format, with a superior Overwatch system. Simple and straightforward turn-based strategy game, troop management and gear scavenging are an interesting twist and the mission variety is ok... but feels lacking to me. The graphics are great and it sounds like gears, music and effects. It's not as good as X-Com II (2016) but it is a solid game.

Buy on Sale is my recommendation.

A turn based, base building, hero management, horde survival, rougelite game... that scratches an itch I didn't know I had. The game play is fantastic, rewarding, and interesting. The music is also so awesome and fitting it deserves it's own mention. While the game is tough it is rewarding and never feels like something is insurmountable, you just need another crack at it.

It is worth the full price.

A fantastic, if not the best, time loop mystery game I have ever played. Well written, well acted, and well done across the board. I highly recommend it.

I love this game.

Like many games of this type you manage resources and build a city, feeding your people and take care their needs and work out production chains. What sells me on this game, and what I really enjoy, is unlike most city builders there are rougelike/rougelite parts of it are absolutely fantastic. You gain XP, level, and spend gained resources for completing cities on new options, better production/resource availability/buildings available at start, and more options. Going into a mission you can customize some of your structures using a point system to help you with the map. There are multiple zone types and modifiers, creating unique challenges.

Worth the full price.

It fun, simple, challenging, and the soundtrack is retro awesome. It's also really cheap, but that's just icing on the cake.

I'm not a fan of this style of game, but Hades's combination of story, style, music, and gameplay makes a game I absolutely adore.

Release:
A new and improved L4D that stands on it's own two feet. I highly recommend if you want a modern L4D or a team based solid zombie shooter.

This game is a flawed masterpiece that you should pick up and play. The start is rough, intentionally, but the world pulls you in more so than most games I have played. The pacing is oddly the games biggest weakness, as it drags, and greatest strength, giving the intertwined stories time to play out in a way that feels real. There isn't a single character that feels poor written or misplayed/acted once you get to know them, friend and foe. The Freaker's are legitimately terrifying though the game, growing more dangerous in various ways along side you and the "OH CRAP" moment when a horde is barreling down on you and you where not ready for or expecting them is legitimately frightening. You will have to sink 50+ hours to see it though to the end, but it is worth it.
