I enjoyed this game for what it has so far, i will note that the enemy AI is definitely lacking, but this is mentioned by the devs so i wont hold that against them. The city building aspect is quite fun and the mechanic of getting cards for each building adds a slight challenge to the game as you don't always get the right building at the right time.

The resource management is fairly simple as long as you dont overlook any details, and there are usually multiple ways to fulfill each need. The way the tech tree is split between population and research is interesting and gives you a reason to grow your city beyond just having a bigger city.

This being said, due to the AI currently being non existent there is no real challenge in the game currently beyond making sure you dont overextend in the beginning. Towns are fairly easy to conquer but it seems rather pointless as the benefits from conquering the towns is only a small gold increase rather than a donation to your resources or just gaining the territory for you to control and use.
It seems to me that the conquering of other villages should have some more benefits and more drawbacks. Possibly adding more control or resources by controlling the town but having it incur a negative to your gaining of influence points. Basically you get a new town but the bigger it is and the more valuable the more control you constantly need to wield to keep the town under control.
There may be a mechanic that the devs add once they put the AI in place, but currently there is nothing to do once you reach the endgame other than to expand across the whole map and make a massive empire.

Still it is fun if you are looking for an medieval style of city builder and considering the nature of work in progress games. I think that it has a lot of potential to be quite a lot better.

I have a few hours into the game and im effectivly addicted to it. That being said if you do get this game i recommend watching some tutorials on youtube. There are some tutorial missions in the game itself but they only go into the first level of a massively deep crafting system. (Most of which can be automated) Still havent managed to get to the endgame with 20+ hours (that might be my fault though).

The game has an interesting trade mechanic and allows for full automation in the later stages. Just dont send combat ships with your covoys and they wont be taken or sunk by pirates (glitch maybe...idk) so the trading aspect gets kind of pointless at the end of the game. The combat is interesting enough that once your at the endgame its worth at least trying to take control of all of the towns. I like the game and would recommend it. The dlcs are a little lackluster and dont seem to really impact the gameplay at all.
