The atmosphere and visuals are quite well done and the idea behind the puzzles is kinda cool. That being said, all the puzzles are very very easy. Took me apparently 4.5 hours to complete, but also 30 minutes of that is leaving the game open in the background while cooking and eating lunch, so probably more around 4 hours to get through the game.

Not much satisfaction in solving the puzzles as a result of it being so simple all the way until and including the end unfortunately, so that's why I leave a not recommended.

So the card game itself I played a lot when it came out a couple years ago and it's really fun. However between deceptive marketing (it's 10$ to play not actually free, except for a small demo-style that still requires you to make an account and give your email) and connection problems (just got dced in the middle of a match) I would not recommend it in this online version. Just get the physical game and play with your friends instead!

Incredibly boring grindfest with little progress happening between runs and new characters needing to start from scratch with their own progress tree. Most boring horde survival I ever played so far.

Also invisible attacks on enemies that just kill without being able to see what even happened. (Or literally nothing happened and it's just bugged, who knows)

eh, fun for a short bit, but there aren't that many things to explore imo and making a truly idle army comp seems to be either impossible or one that's just really bad

Too much RNG for a game already very complex. Was fun for a while, but now it's just frustrating. You got loadout RNG, initial unit/specialist RNG, unit dorp RNG during the match, item drop RNG during the match, positioning RNG, ability use RNG. Like, sorry, but this is just not interesting anymore to try and guess everything or sometimes just get blown out from nowhere.
Sometimes what you blind pick is just hard countered by the initial blind pick of your opponent or vice versa.
Sometimes their tech loadout just works really well against whatever you needed to get into and it's not like you know their loadout (or would have time to check everything anyway). Sometimes you lack the exact tech because, again, RNG if picking a loadout that doesn't have what you need for a specific situation you won't know you'll encounter. And if course if you switch to something different then you just can't deal well with other situations.

Ultimately it was fun for a while, but don't think it's worth trying to get "deep" into it, since it's a lot of either learning specific "cheesy" things to win rounds here and there or guess correctly half the time. or simply get good RNG, cause at the point you're about where your MMR is supposed to be that's kinda all there is to it anyway

All the cutscenes are good and get me into the game, but then any part I actually play kinda sucks, feels clunky or is downright bugged. I'm sure it's one of those games that, "once you get used to it" or "you get far enough into it" is good, but I have like 20 other games I'd want to play and I can't stand games that can't be arsed to be good from the start. I'm not here to work to enjoy a game, especially not if I don't even have time for all the other games I also want to play.
A game should be fun from the start and then out of that enjoyment make me want to spend time to get better at it or get deeper into it. While the game looks good and the writing is good, it's also a mix of clunky, poorly explained, gives poor direction and buggy. Not worth my time

Just came back to this, UI is now confusing as hell. Game brings up pop up messages of hints, but then doesn't explain anything (like purging?). No idea how this passed, but screw this. What a waste of time if you can't even understand the basics of such a simple game due to back implementation of UI/UX

So, it starts out really great and I had some fun with it until about the mid-game. The lategame becomes incredibly tedious and annoying more so than anything else and I'm at the point where I probably won't even bother to finish my current run.
Reasons are for instance. You get a random unavoidable event that stuns 8 of your pips, so first it means that if you had highly specialized important pips, they're just out for a couple turns and there's no remedy, but the more annoying thing is that when they all become available again you gotta manually figure out which belonged to which production thing, so you're moving the camera all over your mostly full map to figure out which building is missing something. Or if someone was in training, where that was.
Another thing I just got is an event where my whole town is now snowed in. I can clear the slow one patch at a time BUT I got to click through a menu 3 time first to select to clearing action, then I can select one SINGLE patch of snow (currently need to clear 150 patches). At this point I just decided to say, screw this, I'm out. Clicking literally 600 times to clear snow isn't quite what I signed up for and I can't believe they expect me to actually do that in a city management game.

I think in general the problem with the lategame is that you build up a fairly sensitive and specialized production chain and while building it up you do it carefully one piece at a time and make sure everything functions properly, but then lategame when some random disaster event happens, the whole thing loses some pieces here and there and you can't really fix it, since you need specialized pips to work certain buildings. So it seems the random stuff just takes over at that point and you gotta hope you don't get hit too hard. Aside from even just trying to exactly figure out where is missing what and what would need to be done to begin with.
Again at that point it's just so tedious scrolling through the whole map trying to figure out what even goes on and where in that supply chain the problem lies and if it can even be fixed.

I also don't honestly see what the game gains by taking so long to begin with. It seems if the game's length would be based around 5 hours it could avoid all those issues and would be way more replayable. Maybe one day we get a mod for that or something idk. But anyway, in it's current state, it's fun for me for about 5-10 hours and then it's strongly downhill from there unfortunately

If only there was a way the UI wouldn't suck so much. Just frigging tell me what my hand is worth before I play it pls, okay? I don't want to have an extra spreadsheet open just to see if I need to roll once more or if it's enough. All the information is open anyway and the game is so much worse for having to either do annoying math or risk losing by a small margin of points that would be entirely preventable if just the UI could tell me what the actual number is at the end

As someone who played offline from the start and didn't have to deal with all the server issues, I had a blast so far. Played about 10 hours a day since the game came out and would still do so if my wrists and shoulder didn't cause me issues at this point lol.

Aside from some UI jankyness that's, quite frankly, a bit embarrassing for a full launch of a game, the gameplay itself is absolutely fantastic, which is the main thing that matters anyway. Itemization and acquisition is done really well. Endgame systems are fun and interesting and make sense. The pacing is good and makes sense. Character progression and depth is good and lot more deep and interesting than I first thought. And most of all there aren't any systems in there where you think "why is that here? This makes no sense". It's all well thought out and works well together.

Absolutely brilliant game with some hickups that I'm sure are gonna be fixed soon anyway. Totally recommend!
