this game is ww1 on steroids. is it historcially accurate? ♥♥♥♥ no. do i care? eh sometimes but not really.
multiplayer is good but has a bit of a sharp difficulty curve as most people on it are hardcore sweats, but if you dont mind throwing yourself into a brick wall a few times before getting better then it is a lot of fun. biggest issue is the rampant racism, homophobia, and transphobia in the chat, but gameplay is good, and sometimes the chat is just plain funny. also beware the smg0/8
singleplayer is pretty great but slightly underdeveloped. it has the spirit, but not the commitment. its fun and good but can leave you wanting. quantity over quality kinda.
tldr; game is rule of cool over historical accuracy but its fun ww1 goofs. 8/10

I'd been on my own, the rest of my squad running to grab the launch codes. I had broken off to deal with a problem, a big stratagem jammer, cutting us off from our oribital and suborbital support systems. Low to the ground, trying my best to stay out of sight, I crawled my way to the spinning red tower. I heard the jumbled chatter of the damn tin cans as they patrolled the area thoroughly. A footsoldier thought he spotted me and walked out to investigate, it was wary, but I still had the element of surprise. I jammed the butt of my pistol into its chrome dome and watched it sink to the dirt- nothing more than a pile of scrap metal and loose wires remained.
There were only two more small ones, but the remaining were all medium armored excepting the hulking microwave oven of a robot with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flame thrower and chainsaw. I had options, but none guaranteed my safety. I grabbed the grip of the light marksman's rifle clipped to my chest, unleashed it, and took aim.
POP
The bullet hits steel as the first raider topples to floor-
POP
The shot goes wide ricocheting uselessly off the shoulder of an adjacent devastator.
POP-FWOOOSH
The damn commisar had shot off his flare- there was no time for thinking or strategy, I just had to act.
The grenade left my fingers before I processed I had even grabbed it and the explosion wiped out the heavy gunner and missile devastators. I whipped out my revolver and with the fury of liberty's vengeance I wiped out the devastator guarding the console. I hit the button to turn the computer on. It whirred and stuttered as the display came to life. Just a moment after I made my second input the lumbering hulk's flame thrower ripped the oxygen out of the air. I coughed hard as I noticed the flames enveloping me and the raised chainsaw arm. I willed my legs to push myself backwards and dove to the dirt dusted metal flooring of the outpost, extinguishing the flame and narrowly avoiding the moving blade in one move. I scattered to my feet, and dove again, this time to pass the slow bastard and made a run for the console. I looked at it again and saw the inputs it wanted, but the reinforcements had just arrived.
I had no time- I jumped off the wall of the outpost and around its flank looking for a safer spot to pick off my targets. I stopped in my tracks as I saw the the fabricator loose a bot and whilst its mechanical brains were spilling out of the golf ball sized hole my pistol left in its head, my grenade flew towards the top opening of the fabricator.
With a devilish grin on my face I ran off not sticking around for the fire fight- not, at least, until I had my air support back. The explosion of the fabricator rang out and I watched as the jammer bent and broke. Lasers flew around me as the confused remnants tried to salvage whatever they had left, which unfortunately for them, was about to be little more than a freshly carved crater to be added to the maps.

I have a pretty good gpu but the game lags a lot on anything over low settings on my gaming laptop. I hope Bethesda will do something about optimizing their games in the future because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game runs like garbage.

I'd say that this is my favorite COD game. It's a major departure from the rest of the series, before this, the games were fairly clean and devoid of excessive gore; however, WAW provides a campaign of brutality, heroism, warcrimes, and survival. The enemies will explode when blown up or shot with high caliber small arms or shotguns. You can blow off arms, heads, legs, you name it, and the enemy's blood curdling screams of pain announce their deaths. As pvt. Miller, you witness the horrors of the eastern front, japanese traps, american flame throwers and shotguns, snipers, ambushes, grenades, planes and explosions. As pvt. Dmitri you witness the ruthlessness of the fighting all the way from the siege of stalingrad to the siege of berlin. war crimes committed by both sides, between slaughtering surrendering soldiers, burning them with molotovs, seeing your fellow men blasted apart by tanks and grenade spam... god... the grenade spam... at the end of the russian campaign pvt chernov's diary is read and you are *judged* for your actions, praised for showing mercy to the dying or condemned, met with mixed emotions if you fell somewhere between, and ridiculed as a murderer if you partook in the carnage purely for revenge. but the most common is the middle, and its a good line to sum up some of the game's message, "perhaps heroes need not questions their actions." the games brutal difficulty also highlights the utter brutality of this war, and a reminder of the high casualty rates of all sides. Veteran mode tells you "you will not survive" and it is right. the grenade spam can be total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but it drills in you how deadly these fist sized missiles are and how many people had to die horribly from them. World At War is a horror game, set in the second world war, and that's why its my favorite.

Evil Tag is amazing. It's poo, buts it's great! The atmosphere visually can make things look a little spooky, but the damn voices ruin the atmosphere immediately. They are all just russians trying to do an american accent and it is really amusing. When you hear "S H I T, battery down!!!" the whole thing becomes laughs. Especially when you try to ride any of the vehicles they are all jokes and not practical at all (I'd recommend using the wheel chair or shopping cart and falling down the stairs). The game is very stupid and funny and should only be played if you and your friends are looking for like an hour at best of laughs then refund because it is all just an hour of laughs at most. If you're looking for an immersive or serious horror experience this is not for you, but if you want some not very cost effective laughs this'll do. Its fun and its stupid and if you get this just have fun.
