True to D&D 5e as can be, Solasta packs a punch even in early release. It cleaves close to 5e in all things, so much so that it's basically become my tactical trainer for my weekly D&D nights. While I'm not a dedicated minmaxer in combat (ok, let's be honest, maybe a little) I am definitely a character optimiser. I like to field-test my builds and see how they fare in combat. What's more, I like to test party compositions and see how they work tactically. Short of building some Monte Carlo simulations and running millions of iterations, Solasta is a *far* more fun and rewarding way of testing my tactical and party-composition ideas. Furthermore, I swear Solasta has made me a more effective roleplayer in tabletop because I've honed some well-worn tactical options from my time in-game.
The story and world of Solasta is slowly but surely coming into full form, but for me, right now, in early access, I have a laboratory for all my twisted and bizarre tactical ideas that are completely applicable in my active 5e campaign. With a solid base in the 5e system, I have full confidence that I've basically already got my money's worth and the campaign is gravy. Delicious gravy at that. Fully and wholeheartedly endorse what Tactical Adventures has built thus far, and it can only get better.

After another 300+ hours of gameplay I've become more and more attached to Solasta, especialy with the most recent Druid/Barbarian updates. Always happy to support an indie studio doing amazing work.

Am I fat and old? Yes, I apparently am.
Did I stop in the middle of my first big fight because I'm a wheezy old man having a heart attack? Yes I did.
Do I suck at boxing? It appears so.
Do I want to get better at this game?

Yes, yes I do.

Looks like a good start in a game that actually uses the 3d environment fully, keeps the rhythm high, forces the player into active play and punishes complacency. Would love to know what more features are going to be in the finished product. Looks god so far.
